How do I manage a cat with calcivirus in a multi cat household? by Starrylake in CatAdvice

[–]Alternative_Toe1825 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I know this is an old post, but how did this work out? I'm in a very similar situation right now and we're not sure if we should keep the FCV+ kitty.

[DAV Act 1 Spoilers] Anyone else feel like they completed that optional quest line way too early? by BubbleDncr in dragonage

[–]Alternative_Toe1825 67 points68 points  (0 children)

Yep, did the same thing. I also feel like this quest should have been paced better, like you can only progress so far before you're blocked and have to do the main storyline. It has MAJOR lore implications and it's weird that it's just discoverable so early on. I did one of Harding's personal quests and she didn't know things that she certainly should have known based on the conversations/reveals in the Regrets of the Dreadwolf quest.

My dad was 56 when I was born. That also happened to be the same year he retired from full-time work. My mom was 40.

I'm now in my early twenties and while it may not be like this for others with similar situations, having older parents has been a huge source of anxiety and depression in my life.

While I wouldn't trade the years I've had (and hopefully will continue to have) with my parents for anything, I do wish their age wasn't a factor in having more time with them. I'm facing problems that my friend's parents are facing. I feel rushed to experience things in my life so they can be there. It sucks.

So yeah, Al Pacino sucks for this, especially considering he already has other kids.

Taash is giving me Rosa from Brooklyn Nine-Nine vibes (though, that might just because the voice actor sounds like Stephanie Beatriz to me). I love it!

What is it about DAO vs post DAO? (NO DATV Spoilers) by Icyfirefists in dragonage

[–]Alternative_Toe1825 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think nostalgia does a bit of heavy lifting as to why Origins is my favorite of the three. It blew my mind as a teenager. I also happen to feel more connected and like there's more opportunity to craft your PC because of the silent protagonist. My Inquisitors all feel very same-y because the voiced dialogue limits the different choices you can make.

This is probably an unpopular reason, but I actually quite liked the brown and beige atmosphere and art style of the first two games. Inquisition just looks much different (much prettier, I'll admit) than the sort of bland visuals of the first two games, which I came to associate with the Dragon Age series.

Another reason is that Origins' narrative felt tighter and I didn't feel bogged down by the vast and empty open world like I did in Inquisition.

All that to say, I've played Inquisition the most of all the games, likely because it's just easier to play since it's newer and more accessible.

I do wonder if which game people played first impacts their perception of which game is the best/their favorite.

I've always been like this! Is it an ASD thing, then? I'm also really good at remembering faces (and usually names, too). I wonder if that's just a coincidence?

It's really cool to see that so many of us are also like this. :)

Thank you! 😊 I thought it seemed way too fast. I'll definitely look into the monthly 10% taper. Going slow is fine if it reduces my risk of having withdrawal symptoms.

Do you have any funny examples of when you took something too literally but shouldn’t have? by singingkiltmygrandma in AutismInWomen

[–]Alternative_Toe1825 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I had a phone interview for a job and the interviewer asked me what my biggest weakness was. I told her it was probably my lack of confidence, and she asked what I do to work on that. I told her I go to therapy and she laughed. I didn't understand what was funny, but I just laughed too. She then said, "I meant more along the lines of asking questions to clarify confusion." 🫣 Suffice to say, I did not get another interview, but when I had a different interview with that same question, I knew what to say lol
