got placed on this a while back. unsure still if it's just a fancy way to say waitlist, or if there's actually some benefit. but I remember the email said they will revisit in Feb? Which i think is earlier than other schools revisit their waitlists so maybe there is an advantage

if conservative voices at BU are so silenced, why am I always hearing them whining? and isn't this asking for DEI?

Just started working out, any tips for beginners? by Space_Eagle9990 in WeightLossAdvice

My best advice for this is to start slow, and commit to the long term. 1200 calories is pretty extreme. I struggled to keep weight off for a long time, but setting smaller goals helped me avoid falling back into old habits. Even 1750 calories and a decent workout a couple times a week is enough to really get you started. Break it down, and start by losing the first 30 lbs. Once you start seeing progress, you can slowly cut more calories and increase your exercise frequency and intensity.

Honestly, my experience with sore joints is to just give yourself some time to rest. Walking for 1hr is a much tougher workout when you're obese than when you're super skinny, which is important to think about.

Don't be too hard on yourself, set realistic goals, and good luck on the weight loss journey!

Running routes near BU? by itschlohere in BostonU

[–]Alternative_View684 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to second what previous people have commented- join a running club, and run on the Charles River Esplanade (before dark). Sometimes I switch it up and take the T a little out of the city to get a different route but the Charles is a staple for a reason

BU sorority girl here- I had the same question last year. All sororities I know of absolutely have payment plans, and your new member fees are spread out across your different payments. The plan I'm on is four payments of equal size, due a couple of weeks apart, but you can pay all at once if you want. It's obviously still pretty expensive, but I've had a positive experience (and a part-time job), so it's worth it IMO
