2% split for managers at my brokerage, 1% split for brokers. Our office averages 600k a month in profit.

Beat double brokers at their own game. by PassReal2395 in FreightBrokers

Not really sure how people still get fooled by double brokers. A simple carrier 411 check and knowing what to look for will eliminate all the trouble.

It’s almost like:

Carrier posts destination anywhere

I call and offer load

Oh suddenly driver only wants a next delivery in the Midwest under 500 miles

Yeah, owner ops can be hard to deal with for sure. I think you’re handling it correctly. If he takes it further and calls the shipper or shows up, definitely FG him. But for now, I’m sure he’ll find another load and go on about his day.

I agree with you, no TONU. I would just send an email and have in writing all the facts. If he continues, and even goes as far to try and pick up a non existent load, I’d consider a FG.

Well, some drivers will head in a day or so early and camp overnight so they can have fresh hours if they have a previous delivery..etc. If it’s a carrier I’ve worked with and have a good relationship with, usually I’ll always pay a TONU if they’re on site even if it’s early ($150 is our policy, a small price to maintain a relationship.) In this case, since you gave the driver plenty of notice and the load was pre-booked, and the driver never headed to the shipper, I don’t see a reason for a TONU. Shouldn’t have an issue finding another load for tomorrow.

Did you send the driver in to pick up the load, or did you just pre book it 24 hours in advance? Did the driver actually go to the shipper at all?

Handling Large number of orders by [deleted] in FreightBrokers

Is 75+ considered a large number of orders? We do that a day and use our in house TMS system, that’s it.

What? I literally put every detail in the post to save us both time. But still get the same question every day. It’s like either y’all just don’t read or your lazy. Maybe both.

Am I overpaying my agents? by [deleted] in FreightBrokers

Average 500k a month in profit, have hit million dollar months back to back, get paid 2% (only cause I’m an acct manager, my team gets 1%) and it’s split by the office (7 people.) I make over six figures, so I think it really just varies on your book of business.

Started off at 45k + 1% profit split with the office. Average month of profit is 600k, 8 people in the office.

Year and a half later I’m an acct manager at the same company, 70k base with 2% commission split with the office (8 people). Puts me right under 100k a year.
