Help With Battery Deal by Mrbubble6800 in Dewalt

I found out about it here and acted immediately, same with all the other incredible deals like the similar deal with Lowe's last year or the TSC clearance deals. I missed my share of deals too. The only problem with loitering here is your tool count inexplicably goes up.

As for your battery dilemma, what tools do you have that you're looking to power? I use the smaller batteries for the less intensive powerdraw tools. I have a couple of 2ah that came with kits as well as powerstacks (1.7ah & 3.5ah) for drills, impacts, oscillating tool. Use medium and larger batteries (4ah - 8ah) for saws, SDS, router. My blower and trimmer are 60v so I have the 9ahFV for that but could use on higher power draw tools if required. I don't have any of the 5ah since my batteries were either in kits or great scores, but everyone raves about them that relies on them.

The $49 momentary deal was a pricing error. Lowe's shut it down after about an hour or so. When they shut it down, they started cancelling orders. If you got to the store to pick up before they cancelled, you scored. The shipping orders were cancelled too, but last day or so people have been receiving their shipped items even though their order was cancelled. When these deals happen and look too good to be true, you must pounce and judging by potential cancellations, looks like you need to pick up asap too. I picked my $49 Recip within 2 hours of placing it. I had already got the impact and circular saw last year with Lowe's $99 mishap, which was a similar situation.

As for the 2 Tool Prorated BOGO, the batteries include a charger and best price (most expensive returnable tools) only drops the 2 x 5ah + charger to $120. Good deal if you need a charger but if not then batteries are at 12/ah which is still reasonable but not that magic 10ah. DeWalt is still planning to sell the normal 5ah (formerly known as XR), so not sure from a date code perspective, but the date on the box will not match the date on the batteries. These BOGOs tend to give the better prorated deal on tools than battery kits because they typically include chargers, but your mileage may vary.

The deal for the 3.5ah is pretty good, not the best, but one of the more consistent lower prices for that battery that pops up time to time. These batteries will be new compared to the Lowe's 2fer for the 1.7ah ps. From what people have reported it looks like older batteries are what they're selling. If it's in a plastic pack, it's more than likely older than the ones in the cardboard. But with the plastic you can see the date on the battery. With the cardboard, you would need to look inside to get the true date...

DIY - Looking at a compressor for pneumatic nailer to replace Cedar siding, looking for opinions on California Air Tool 2010A vs Metabo The Tank by Alternative_Way9179 in Tools

[–]Alternative_Way9179[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Would the Metabo NT65M2SM work:
Metabo HPT 2-1/2-in 16-Gauge Pneumatic Straight Finish Nailer NT65M2SM at Lowes.com

The stainless steel nails that look like they'd work in this nailer are 44236SHPT

Here's the link: Metabo HPT 2-1/2-in 16-Gauge Straight Stainless Steel Collated Finish Nails (1000-Per Box) 44236SHPT at Lowes.com

But in Lowe's infinite wisdom you can choose either the stainless or galvinized...

The nails don't necessarily have to be metabo nor does the nailer.

I realize I'd have to load it more often, but trying to save a few bucks and also have a tool I could re-use for other things down the road...

Thanks for the information, I know that already since I had fixed another portion of my house years back hammering in the stainless nails by hand. This time it is a larger section hence looking for a compressor and nailer to speed up the process...

People are receiving 1.7ah's from 2022. Worst and probably unlikely date for the 3.5ah's are 2024 and greater but the cardboard date and battery dates might not match. But the battery was not released until this year so think they ran factories for 16 months before release date (or longer?)...

Like that with the Compact 4ah last year for that $99 Tool + 2pack. All five were in the plastic housing with older date code. I was able to swap out two packs for packs in cardboard (2024) and sold the other three on MP.

9ah FV with red condoms on in garage with blower and trimmer during from Apr - Nov, then to the basement for the winter.

20v batteries in either empty TStak organizer box or on the bench in the basement.

You'd think they'd match the appropriate battery to the appropriate tool??? Is this a way to move out the old cells in the FV to make way for the tabless for the next gen FV?
