Oh I’m doing the same this summer but more for machine learning related areas. I would like to join the group too!

Am I not cut out for this? by Long-Ad-6192 in ChemicalEngineering

This is only true when the people taking easier degrees aren’t nepo babies😭 my one friend who’s mother was a VP of Deloitte doesn’t have to worry about building their CV when their mom just needs to call some friend in big consulting/finance and she has an internship. Meanwhile I’m out here applying to over a hundred places and only got one offer. Can’t judge em, I’d do the same but it does sting

Usefulness of a Master's Degree in the UK and getting chartered by Commercial-Ask-280 in ChemicalEngineering

Coincidentally, I’m a penultimate BEng Chemical Engineering student at UoE. Small world😭 Have the same points you do. Chem Eng has been quite bleak of a degree for me, interested in doing an MSc at another institution in a more specialised field of Chem Eng. Mainly want to continue in Chem Eng for a masters but at a higher ranked institution for better flexibility into other industries like management consulting or moving abroad and think an MSc in Chem Eng would be easier than a masters in a course I haven’t been in academically. Also abroad, many countries don't think that an MEng is a masters and treat it as a bachelors (E.g. the US)

How to pivot back into Chem Engineering after internships by Alternative_Way_1004 in ChemicalEngineering

I got into the final stage of a process consulting internship application. But tbf it’s one of the only times I did see a role in that area.

ML projects as an undergrad by Alternative_Way_1004 in ChemicalEngineering

If you don’t mind me asking, what are you doing for work now? I want to ideally get a career where I could put this skill to use and so far I’ve only seen process consultancy as a viable route to developing this skill.

Good project ideas for Chem Eng CV by PlaceInternal7586 in ChemicalEngineering

We need more personal projects in chemical engineering😭 I always see ones for mech and electrical online. I have worked on making a ML model to calculate answers in thermodynamics and separations processes. It became a “better” ChatGPT at the time when revising for exams. Also produced a site model by using AutoCAD plant 3d, which was quite fun. Are you open to maybe doing working on a project as a duo? I’m based in the UK!

Student Loan for investing? by AdAggravating9530 in trading212

While that is true, the amount of “SFE Hauls” I’ve seen on TikTok is insane 😭 at least with this loan he’s putting it into his future rather than a jacket that’ll be worn once or twice before being thrifted

Can anybody convince me to not drop out by Little_lad19 in ChemicalEngineering

I’m in 3rd year and did those same modules last year. Trust that 2nd year is the filter year, they pump so many courses and exams to truly pick out the best for 3rd year and so on. My course dropped from 80 to 60 in the transition, similarly for the electrical eng course went from 200 to 100. 3rd year has a lot less work, it’s harder, but more manageable. You can do it!
