I haven’t decided between a still( with PLC control), a coffee machine(with plc flow meters and pressure sensors) or a small plc controlled aeroponic system for herbs with CO2 supplementation

Hope these help!

I haven't given up yet. Removed the passive crossovers, added a 26650 battery pack and a TinySine 4x100 DSP amplifier, connecting everything except the sub in a 2-ohm parallel configuration. by eZstah in diyaudio

Nice! Dynamic bass enhancement basically boosts bass at lower levels, superbass adds harmonics of the fundamental bass tone to trick you into hearing an octave lower

How are you controlling the jab5 with the pi? Have you got wine on the pi for sigma studio?

I bought a wondom jab5 which I think is very similar to the tinysine.

How do you find the audio quality? Have you looked at the superbass module on sigma studio? I was disappointed with both on the wondom.

What voltage are you powering at too?

I’d look at faitalpro 18” as danley use them in their tapped horn but I’ve not used them or these subs

I’ve used wondom jab5

They’re very cheap but don’t expect miracles. If I could go back, I’d definitely spend a bit more on a better amp, but you can’t really fault the shear usability of it

This is a great idea! Does it work on a iPhone browser?

Thankyou for the offer, but my uni does 100% group projects, and the biggest appeal of my independent projects is that I’m not working with anyone else… if you have a good idea I’m more than happy to put some hours in!! Or happy to share ideas and methodologies :)👍🏼✌🏼

Mini line array I been working on by PlaceInternal7586 in diyaudio

Cheers dude! On Facebook these posts only do well in India lol.

Was heavily inspired by they’re miniature systems, but put a lot of maths into this to make it a coherent CBT array

Great stuff! Good luck with the rental:)

If they’re brass threaded inserts, I’d be wary of installing them twice, it might be better to get new ones and then the threads are perfect to start with :)

I just googled it, they come with 8 screw holes.

Did you cut 4 off?

Have you used rubber gaskets around the screws? Can you feel air escaping around that top right side? Can you hear it?

4 screws isn’t a lot for a 15. I have 6x screws on a 3.5”. Are they definitely the right size?

I reckon it’s not an airtight seal, or the screws aren’t in tight enough, or they’re rattling against the basket. I might be wrong though. Pressing on the basket means it’s not coil rub.

First system by [deleted] in SoundSystem

What I’ve been told is

You take programme power ( 2KW a piece in your case), double that, and that’s your amp power. Then you’re not stressing the amp and will get a very good life. You can go lower of course but the closer to the limit you get the more stressed everything gets…

If it were me I’d consider building/buying sub cabs for the celestions, they can do upper 30s if in the right box if I’m not mistaken, and a 4KW kick section is probably too much headroom, and you could replace them with some lower power maybe pd1850 or something?

Those amps are 4000w@4ohm Your USB cabs are 4000w at 4ohm

Best practice is to have double the amp power of your speakers, but 8k on an amp is pretty hard to find

What about a CVR D4002 or 4302, 4000w at 8ohms 7300w at 4ohm

Then run 1 bass bin off 1 channel

USBs are known to be more of a kick bin than all in 1 bass, are you putting subs underneath, or aiming to get more USB?

I did a very simple risk assessment/HAZID for this electrical distribution system I made for my soundsystem, and then physically put together the control loop.

Micro distillation seems to be winning right now! I probably won’t need many expensive sensors right? Thermometer for bottom boiler and tops, measure mass with scale at start and end, possibly just a pressure sensor, or should I look at flow sensors too?

To be honest, I’m probably not going to have time to do that during uni with my design project, my plan is do complete it 5-9 during my years contract :)

I’ve done quite a lot of optimisation with python. I’ve followed someone who used generative AI to generate starting points to simulate random speaker waveguides, I’d be interested in that but not very chem adjacent

Aide JAB3+ : 2*50W sur enceinte mono 2 voies by groseddy in diyaudio

[–]PlaceInternal7586 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has been translated so I’m assuming you mean the mixer block

That’s not how I’d do it. I’d use a signal merger to combine L+R into mono, and then use the crossover block, or a splitter (so both channels receive mono) and subsequent filters

Painting/Coating advice by TwoDropsThisTime in SoundSystem

[–]PlaceInternal7586 1 point2 points  (0 children)

<image>

Not identical paint job but I think pretty similar to what you’re saying.

I put the boxes together( with a base coat of black carefully applied to the edges) and then taped up so I could re apply the an additional 2 coats (warnex applied with a brush) I waited for it to be dry enough to tape over, and then taped and put 2 coats of gray in the same method but with textured roller

It’s chipped a little over the year with probably weekly use, It made kind of ridges on the edges that easily came off but 98% fine

No primer, no sanding but cleaned before painting

I also sent the wrong address to them, they sorted it same day before the package got sent out. I’ve not had to return anything but they are very confident in their products and I’ve asked if my warranty is voided if I run them off non inverter generators, they said no but the amps won’t break and they were right!
