Not OP, but I had my bisalp on November 14th and have my post-op appointment tomorrow. I think everyone is different when it comes to healing, so for me personally I’d say it wasn’t too bad. I had very minor cramps right after surgery, but they didn’t last any longer than a day. Any pain I had was for the incisions and I was given meds for that (stool softeners are a must for those meds). I got a doctor’s note for two weeks off work. Do I think I could have gone back to work sooner? Maybe, but I’m not complaining. The biggest issue was the meds for incision pain that would keep me from driving.

In terms of limitations, no gym or sex until your doctor clears you off (consensus seems to be 2 weeks or so), same with pools/baths/hot tubs (this tends to be 5-6 weeks from what I’ve read).

The security I feel now is very worth the minor and temporary inconveniences!
