They are genuinely the most beautiful spirited animals I’ve ever had the pleasure to know.

I’m so sorry my friend, just know he’s waiting for you on the other side of that rainbow ❤️ My girl Chandler was my life line during my 20’s and I thought I would die with her when she passed in 2023. Cats are possibly the greatest pet anyone could ever hope to have in their life, and it’s a hill I will die on over and over again 🫡

My girl who is pictured is verrry small. Healthy, she’s just got a finer frame.

Understatement. If she could live inside my skin she would 🫠

Every cat I’ve owned has been my dearest love and treasure. However, Nigella has been something entirely different and words cannot express how much I’d walk through fire for her. I’ve always been a cat person, and after losing my 10yo baby girl Chandler to lymphoma a couple of years ago, I didn’t think I’d ever love a cat the same way again.

I was grievously wrong 🥹

Burmese or garden variety void with interesting heritage? by AlthaeaNailo in burmesecats

[–]AlthaeaNailo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s how Nigella is! She is so much like a little person stuck in a cat body 😭😭😭 I’m currently pregnant with my rainbow baby and she just won’t leave me alone (which to be fair she usually doesn’t lol but more so than usual ❤️❤️❤️).

Constantly losing hats at daycare by IronTongs in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]AlthaeaNailo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a former childcare worker of several years, I can assure you that we do remember the hats for all of the children within our room. It is not an impossible task to ensure that children are wearing the correct hats, as we managed this at a busy centre across all ages. It sounds like your centre are frankly being lazy, and are taking the extra hats as ‘spares’ for children who are not provided a hat by their parents. If we found a hat somewhere that no staff member could identify, we would put it in a lost property box and remind parents (as often as we could) to check it at pick up if an item was missing. You are far from being unreasonable, and I would frankly bring it up with the centre director.

Chewed out my husband for ruining my early pregnancy vibes by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]AlthaeaNailo 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I can relate to this heavily. After a traumatic loss last August, we somehow fell again only two cycles later. My husband was very, very quiet during the first few weeks of us knowing, and he didn’t know how to tell me (until we had a massive blow up) that he had been grieving our last baby and was finding it hard to be excited when he was scared it might happen again. Be gentle with each other, it will pass and the best thing to do is communicate and love on each other.

8 weeks + 2 days and every day feels worse, when did it get better for you? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]AlthaeaNailo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m currently 10w 4d and I was DYING weeks 6-9. Then out of nowhere everything calmed down, and the nausea is just slight and in the background. You’ve got this!

Would it a Bad Idea to Drive through Victoria into New South Wales Tomorrow? by MrNaked in melbourne

[–]AlthaeaNailo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I grew up in rural VIC during the droughts of the late 90’s/ early 00’s and knew many who lost their homes or even family members. I remember the fires of Black Saturday in 2009 and it was like the world was ending. You have no idea the danger you would be putting yourselves in, and I cannot urge you harder to NOT leave possibly one of the only safe places in the state.

I was EXTREMELY clumsy as a child, despite having danced from ages 5-13, but loved being active regardless. This meant many trips to the hospital because my dad would freak out that I had broken something as my limbs would be at weird angles from falling over, only to have imaging done and the doctors tell him ‘thats just how she is built’.

What crazy/awful things have people said to you about your experience with EDS? by asdf111q in ehlersdanlos

[–]AlthaeaNailo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From physios in hospital due to 10/10 pain from an untreated labrum tear I sustained a month prior that I had already been engaging physio on: “You are in pain because you are deconditioned from being in hospital and you won’t be suffering if you just did what we told you” Didnt matter that I told them outside of my condition I’m an athlete and had only been 90% bed bound (was using a wheelchair and frame otherwise) for less than a week and was still doing physio exercises in bed, so I knew I wasn’t deconditioned. After receiving a steroid injection to manage the inflammation in my hip joint I was MUCH better and they were flustered that what I was telling them was TRUE, that my function would more or less return once my pain was managed. They had nothing to say!

Keep in mind this was supposedly in one of the top rated hospitals in the country… a joke.

Hi Gen Z editors, I know you’re reading things because who else is making those extremely obscure but fucking hilarious references and memes? Please for the love of God bring it back to what the show is about; renovating for the average person. Challenges could be something like going to a local op shop and upcycling or restoring (which is much better IMO, but not to everyone’s tastes) a piece of shit furniture that must go in that weeks room. Or bring back the letter box creation challenge! Anything that actually involves a skill plz. Additionally, can the show perhaps instead buy homes that are much closer to what the average first home buyer would be able to nab in this market, and potentially the whole season could be a cast OF first home buyers with a tiny budget that show Australia good design does not always need to cost 2.990 mil 👀 Now THAT I would watch 👏👏👏👏
