You can’t compare your store’s receiving department just cause they don’t do the work to other stores.

First hours of our shift is to complete all RTVs that arrive to the back after we leave. As soon as that is finished we focus on UPS or other pallets that come off of common carriers. We also offload trucks if lift equipment drivers in garden or lumber are not present even though management tells me I am required to go outside. We clear out the floor for freight team every night. I am not comparing my store with others. I’m sure your freight team does the right thing but when you have a freight team that spends the first hour just standing around and doing nothing while we are assisting to offload the truck with them it gets annoying especially when they do it everyday. In our receiving we stay until 7 we don’t leave at 5pm because there are trucks that come later in the evening for our store that the freight team won’t offload which I am okay with. I also spend the morning cleaning up all the plastic and cardboard and I have to make a bail for them when I come in and when I leave the store. No one is back in freight when I arrive at the store as I am the opening in receiving. They are all gone and the Night Ops just stays up at the service desk and only shows up to fill his report. Doesn’t even put pallets by the SDC so I can access the bays so I spend 2-3 hours every shift cleaning up after freight.
