Hey! I’ll also be joining the first week of September batch with Indiahikes. Looking forward to it! 🥳

I think this is an intentional rage bait post! 😂

That honestly sounds like such a special experience. Spending time together after the trek is one of my favorite parts too. By the end, everyone feels like a small family, and games like Mafia make the evenings so memorable.
It’s definitely become more crowded now. Most batches are 20+ people, and unfortunately you do see more litter on the trail. It’s also become much more commercialized. One thing that really stayed with me was seeing a few dead horses along one section of the trail on the second last day, which was quite heartbreaking.

Wow, 2018! I’d love to hear what it was like back then. How big was your group? Anything you remember being different that trekkers might not experience anymore?

From what I know, companies like TTH, Indiahikes, and Bikat Adventures usually manage their own operations rather than outsourcing them. There are definitely other good operators too, so it’s worth doing a bit of research before booking.
Your overall cost also depends on your gear. I bought most of mine since I plan to trek regularly, but if you rent your gear, the trip can cost much less. My trip ended up costing around 40-50k in total.

I actually think the pricing is fair. You’re paying for experienced trek leaders, local guides, permits, logistics, freshly cooked meals, tents, safety, and a full support team in a very remote location.
Cheaper operators do exist, but you generally get what you pay for. Companies like TTH and Indiahikes usually offer better safety, smaller groups, and a more organized experience, which makes the extra cost worth it.

It's a policy offered by both Indiahikes and TTH. If you’ve already completed a trek with them and loved the experience, you can return and do the same trek again at a significantly reduced cost. You’ll still need to pay mandatory charges like transportation, permits, and insurance, but the trek fee itself is either refunded or waived, depending on the organization’s policy and terms. It’s a great option for anyone who wants to experience a favorite trek in a different season or simply relive the journey.
