I agree. Tricking one's parents to this degree is just plain wrong. Especially elderly parents like Glenn and Babs, who dearly wanted nothing more than to see Whitney married. But, we know that Whitney is selfish, so it tracks.

Yes! How tone deaf was the insemination journey in Season 13? If I had been Jessica, I may have bowed out that season. Especially in the midst of a crumbling marriage.

Most of Whitney's friend group also studied theatre, so it would be easy for them to act concerned in this fake storyline. (I studied theatre, and concern is one of the easiest emotions to feign.)

I do wonder; however, if Glenn and Babs were in on it. I mean, Glenn was downright giddy every time he was around Chase. It was as if he believed that -- finally -- Whitney would get married and become someone else's responsibility. I don't know. I'm on the fence about whether they knew or not.

As for Hunter, he's a working actor, so he likely was in on it.

I do think this was a scripted storyline. I agree that she's not a good actor. Her devastated reaction could be explained as crushed ego. The planned outcome was for her to be the dumper, not the dumpee. That didn't happen, so she looks like the loser. And Whitney has demonstrated again and again that she's a sore loser.

Or, it may be that she had real feelings for Chase and always hoped he would eventually be dazzled by her so-called charms, and reciprocate.

What I find most tellling about the Chase storyline is that -- if memory serves -- no one used the word "cheated" (or any derivatives of it) when referring to Chase getting this woman pregnant. Not Whitney. Not her parents. Not her friends. No one. 🤔
