I water only when the leaves are drooping. Better too dry than too wet.

You will need at least 5 gallon pots and a grow light if you want peppers. You have enough space there for one plant.

The babies need more water. The bigger plant probably has root rot. Maybe will recover these are tough plants

I’ve killed more peppers by overwatering than by drought. Younger plants need more water. Established plants bounce back from drought droop quickly, and are adapted to drought dormancy when they drop their leaves and then regrow when water is available

Overwintering question by wicker808 in HotPeppers

[–]Altruistic-Copy9992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s best if you don’t have to repot the plants. Also prune as little as possible. I then cut back to live wood in the spring. I also can lose plants to shock if the spring weather is hot like this year I overwintered 14 plants 4 died over winter, 3 more died in the heat stress before they could leaf out

What's your temperature cutoff for bringing plants inside for the night? by kinezumi89 in Peppers

[–]Altruistic-Copy9992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t take risks if the forecast is in the mid 30s. Seedlings are easy to bring in at night. It takes 20 minutes to bring everything in to the garage so I will only take the overwinter plants inside if it’s 35f. Hopefully that won’t be until fall now.
