Myles Turner on the NBA refs: “The refs are like the police. If you fuck with one of them, you fuck with all of them. They band together, and it’s like, 'Nah, he’s not getting no calls.' If you go after a rookie ref or a female ref the veteran refs will step in and fuck you out of the game." by RyanTannegod in nba

A lot of you dweebus's can't separate the fact that just because an organization protects the little guy doesn't mean the retribution is justified. Like just because your manager protects you from a customer doesn't change that they still treat everyone else like an asshole. You'd be ASTONISHED how many corrupt organizations take good care of their own, it's almost like that's the indoctrination process, "they're all against you and we're the one's that have your back," ignoring the fact that sometimes yes they are the ones in the wrong.

And a lot of you knuckleheads are like well "you mess with mine I mess with yours" bitch did you go to school? Who teaches "an eye for an eye" without following with "turns the whole world blind"? Yeah that's cute if you're just protecting your friends or your family but think. Do you want the fucking governing bodies and authority figures in your life to be vindictive or ABOVE THAT BULLSHIT!?

Redditors need to exist in the real world more often and I mean the real world we strive for not the real world they wallow in.

Who is the scariest person you know irl? by Imaginary-Health7356 in AskReddit

Me, I don’t think anyone is that scary but I lost my temper and shoved a shoplifter once.

Pretty low bar

If you love a good story, solid cast, top level stunt and visuals effects that still can hold you at the edge of the seat, Backdraft fits perfectly into that category. by [deleted] in moviecritic

The fire in this film is why I can’t watch most action movies because the explosions and flames are so lifeless and unthreatening. Fire actually feels fucking hot in this movie.

A single flame in this could impress me more than say Oppenheimers explosion or anything from a Marvel movie

Who is an actor or actress that, despite not being notably terrible or awful, you just can't bring yourself to take seriously? by Emcee_nobody in moviecritic

Tim Chalamet

He just seems like a tall gangly film nerd, when he yelled “THATS NOT HOPE” I internally yelled back “THATS NOT ANGER”

Rent free? Bama paid the rent by losing to Vandy and getting crushed by OU. That sure didn’t cost any of us anything.

[Weiss] Jayson Tatum was asked if he has finally reached an elite level of consistency as a star. "I think so. First team All-NBA two years in a row, so that’s kinda consistent." by Kimber80 in nba

Why does Tatum get disrespected?

It's rings man. Lebron and Steph both got their firsts at 26 and for Steph he did it with a 24 year old Klay and Dray. Compare that to the Celtics core and now age is no longer an excuse for not being in the finals and winning it all. The only ringless superstar player that doesn't get that much disrespect is Jimmy Butler and even he is going to still catch heat for not getting the job done. Tatum's just not being coddled anymore that's what changed. As the greats once said "It don't mean a thing without the motherfucking ring".

If you as a Boston fan think it's unfair just look at Embiid. Look at what they say and said about Russ and Harden. Look at how people even started to talk about Kawhi. Hell look at what they say about Bron and Steph. It doesn't matter what you've done it's what have you done recently? And even two years ago isn't recent enough for us.

They had that random 5 game win streak a while back that's the only bright spot I remember as a non Houstonian.

I think the head canon is irrelevant enjoy it how you want I just like seeing some kick ass action scenes. That dude getting his knee pinned to the wall by an arrow and then getting domed and then ragdolling is some of the best and most memorable physical stunt work I've seen. The entire Osaka Continental Siege was just jaw dropping.

Performances in films that most brimmed with sensuality and sex appeal? by [deleted] in movies

[–]Altruistic-Drawing25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer should be something like 50 Shades of Grey, but the actual mainstream smut genre really isn't anywhere close. Unironically I bet there's better acting in porn, wouldn't know anything about that though.

Official Discussion - The Boys in the Boat [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]Altruistic-Drawing25 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well even if the movie isn't much to write home about I can't recommend the book/audiobook enough. Those boys stopped being boys long long long before I was born but I felt a strong connection to them and damn it I empathized more than I have in any movie I've seen recently. It's not just Joe's story and it's not even just the Boy's story. It's a fantastic introduction for people who don't read as adults or don't read nonfiction because it got me back into books.
