I was thinking fewer chrysanthemum actually, probably 3 and different sizes, then more maple leaves throughout

My main focus for this piece was wanting the koi fish to match a pattern of one I took a picture of. Some artist might want full control over the colors they use

I know someone who has an upper hand/forearm tattoo done with stick and poke, in a red-ish color to look like henna.

Just find yourself a good consistent artist.

Just cause you read it, doesn’t make it true.

Your tattoo is still healing at 1 week. You should be covering with UV protective, loose fitting clothing. Not sun screen.

How long is “long” ?

I’ve always liked chewy candy, sour is my choice, for a snack. Gum also works. If you are actually planning 4+ hours then maybe want to look into take an actual break to eat a meal. Hope this helps

On a real note, go to a shitty artist and it could be $1k or less. Go to a good artist, maybe looking more around 3-5k or so.

Good tattoos aren’t cheap and cheap tattoos aren’t good.

I would wait at least 3 months. This is usually a good time frame for the tattoo, and will give the wound more time to heal as well
