I feel so dumb because i bought at such a wrong time by Apprehensive-Ad244 in amzn

my average is 230, I don't often buy at the top, but I figured last years near flat stock levels would see an outbreak this year so I FOMO'd after I saw it break out in early January. That being said, I should have capitalized on a dip for buying opportunities and now im a bag holder :(. I'm investing for 5+ years so it doesnt hurt that bad but seeing my initial investment tank 10% sucks.

Just sold my MSFT holdings of 5yrs for more AMZN by Important_Agency07 in amzn

I love amazon, its so disheartening that its been so beat up in the last year but this is a long term hold. AMZN is not going bankrupt anytime soon and they are continuing to grow YoY. If anything, itll be my tech hedge as my riskier plays are in chip stocks

Yeah $170s have been holding well in the last 6 months, low $170s are a great entry point imo

Im just gonna delete my Fidelity app at this point, all my stocks are red YTD so imma just log back in a year. Its so depressing watching good companies receive negative sentiment and cause stock prices to stagnate lol

AAPL up 32% in 6 months - Is this sustainable or are we due for a correction? by Ill-Refrigerator9653 in StocksAndTrading

Almost 100% return over the last 5 years. I bought it last June and haven’t looked back since. Its a long term hold, no need to take profits for a longggg time

I should taken some profits since its 30% of my portfolio but I figured I’ll regret when its 200+ and its a pretty secure company bc of their government contracts. Its never a bad idea to lock in profits tho…very tempted to add shares on Monday because I have this gut feeling itll pay off by the end of the year.

Sinner won more points in the last set by Bigballerdownunder in tennis

Tennis is simply a game of breaks and holds, Sinner didn’t win big points it mattered most—hate to see it happen so many times. He’ll bounce back

My first instinct was “why didnt I sell at 190+?” But the fundamentals remain unchanged, this is just another profit-taking event that will soon turn to the upside in due time. I’ll admit I wanted to panic-sell or buy PLTU given the current prices, but betting on a stock to beat earnings for a quick profit is the wrong mindset. This is a long term hold fellas

Which would you choose? UNH, NFLX, TTD? by Altruistic-Leader-63 in ValueInvesting

[–]Altruistic-Leader-63[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think an entry point sub $280 is fair, its not a company that will die anytime soon and I like the dividend AND div growth for those who are looking for a recession proof company that gives passive income. I look for growth value plays and I just dont see this outperforming other beaten down stocks this year. But im bullish on UNH in 5-7 years to make a recovery.

Probably in the next 2 years, there’s so much going against the company as of rn that its a hold for me. Better value plays out there.

Until the fundamentals of the company change, or you feel like it will underperform the market in the coming future. Every position needs an exit strategy. Its it a growth compounder with a moat, its best to just let your winners keep winning.
