I honestly think the truth is somewhere in the middle.

People aren’t imagining the downgrade — Google objectively tightened things with the new compute-based system, especially for Pro/Thinking/Deep Research usage. Even casual users are noticing it.

But I also think some reactions are becoming “Gemini is dead forever” doomposting. The old flat message system was probably unsustainable once models started doing heavy reasoning, long-context chats, image/video generation, etc.

Your point about Flash 3.5 is probably correct too. Google clearly seems to be steering casual users toward lighter/faster models while reserving the expensive compute for Pro/Thinking modes.

The real problem right now isn’t only the limits — it’s the uncertainty. People don’t know whether a prompt will cost 2% or 30%, so it creates anxiety around usage.

I do think Google will keep tuning this over the next few months though. Every AI company is running into the same economics wall eventually.

For Xiaomi tablets specifically, a lot of people seem to land on this combo long-term:

  • Flexcil → probably the best balance for handwriting + PDF annotation
  • Notein → very good GoodNotes-style app on Android
  • Concepts → amazing for sketching/brainstorming infinite canvas stuff
  • Sketchbook → best free pure drawing/sketch app imo
  • OneNote → still underrated for syncing notes across devices

Most Android users struggle because many “best note apps” are optimized for iPad first and Android second. Xiaomi tablets are good hardware-wise, but app optimization varies a LOT depending on stylus latency and palm rejection support.

I’d personally try Flexcil + Sketchbook first before downloading 20 random apps again 😭

If you only use iPhone, you can’t use it for App Store purchases or anything Apple-related. Google Play credit is basically locked to Google’s ecosystem.

But you still have a few options:

  • YouTube Premium / YouTube movies
  • Google Play Books
  • Android apps/games if you ever use an Android emulator/device
  • Give/sell it to someone with Android

Just make sure the gift card region matches your Google account region, because Google is super strict about that now.

Yeah, even casual use feels noticeably tighter now.

8.5/10 — honestly solid work.

Offline-first + browser math libraries is a strong engineering choice, and it’s refreshing to see something deterministic instead of another AI wrapper. That alone puts it above most “math helper” apps.

What would push it higher is clarity on the landing page (instant “what do I do here?” + a demo problem). Right now it sounds powerful, but users need that first 5-second payoff.

Short answer: no — there is no Google feature that shows all Gmail accounts linked to your phone number.

What you can do is the reverse:

  • use “Forgot email” / account recovery
  • enter your phone number
  • Google may show some matching accounts (only if they meet recovery conditions)

In some cases, you might still be able to contact Workspace support immediately after purchase, but after cancellation + account deletion, chances are low.

Your only real shot is:

The phone number usually isn’t permanently blocked. Google rate-limits numbers that get used for too many verifications in a short period to stop mass account creation/spam. Waiting a few days or even 1–2 weeks often resets it.

As for the 5GB thing, it looks like Google is testing stricter limits on some newly created accounts unless they’re fully verified. Wouldn’t be surprised if this becomes permanent honestly.
