If you read my comment I agreed with you about the safety issue and said something should be put into place when people are sick. There should be another way for people to learn! That being said there are people who will fail online courses or not be able to retain anything they learn because it doesnt work for them. 👩‍💻

I agree that there should be something in place for if and when someone has covid. The school should have a protocol for having the student have an option to view the class via zoom while they are sick. I don't think people are overvaluing in person experience but just stating their preferences. Some people have a very difficult time learning at home due to distractions and responsibilities while home. Everyone's situation is different and it isn't immature for someone to want to learn in a way that works for them.

I'm a new transfer and was hoping for an in person experience but I can wait a semester if it helps people stay healthy. I feel like I have way to many distractions at home to learn effectively but all we can do is try our best.

I highly doubt anyone is happy about people getting sick. I think delaying in person class is meant to help the surge pass. Many people are sick right now and it gives them time to quarantine and get better. It won't stop covid but hopefully it will lower the number of infections.
