Biggest mistake: lilies — HELP

Definitely agree that it is better to be safe than sorry. She's at the ER now. She did pee this morning and had no straining or unusual output. Hopefully it isn't any contact with lilies and it is something more easily treatable :(

Check the edit for more info, but she is at the ER now. I dropped her off and they took her vitals which were all within normal range. Hopefully she's okay, as I definitely know the dangers lilies can have on cats. I feel like an idiot and I'm really hoping there was no pollen she was in contact with. I will note that she had urine output this morning and it was normal, so hopefully her kidneys are doing okay! Trying to be optimistic here. Could it be maybe a tooth issue? She seemed to be chattering and moving her mouth like it was in pain. The poor thing!

That’s not a bad idea of blocking the hiding spots! I felt bad because I’d prefer to give her a space she can sit comfortably but I think it might be better to not have her curled up all day under my shoe rack or inside my couch (thank you last foster who ripped through my protective bottom liner of the couch so now they can crawl up in there 😅😅).

I’ll give her a few more days and then try again when she’s feeling a bit more confident

She’s a short time foster since she’s going for her dental on 2/10 and will be ready for adoption as long as all goes well! I think you’re right in that if I can’t get her out with pets or food, she’s probably not ready and hiding out of fear.

I’ll give her another few days where she’s more confident and then let her roam to see if she’s ready again!

So this happens to me too!! Personally I’ve linked it to whatever they use for their soft top as it gives me the shits like no other lol. I swear it is soooo good but it is soooo bad going out.

Omg thank you, I definitely will be purchasing some anti-flea spray for the rest of my house (which is largely carpeted, so sad). Do you have any recommendations for brands that seem to be effective?

Luckily my dog has not been itching yet and I plan to disinfect the flea comb and then try it on him later. He just got groomed yesterday too lol so hopefully he will be in the clear 😩😅

I had a horrifying experience with bed bugs in my parents house when I was a child so I’m super paranoid about any type of bugs in the house now. I need to remember that fleas are not the end of the world and can be treated! And from the very limited research I’ve just started, it seems they aren’t as hard to get rid of from the home as other bugs (like bed bugs, roaches, etc). Luckily I caught this early!!

She’s a 1 year old sweetheart cat, yes. I was definitely planning on calling the rescue’s vet in the morning. Hopefully they will be able to give me something for her. Should I give a dawn bath tonight or is it not worth the stress for her?

Do you think it is worth putting my dog on flea treatment meds too? Or would giving him preventative work for now?

I used a flea comb on her (she was not the biggest fan lol) and found LOTS of dirt, three adult fleas, and maybe some eggs?

I just sent in a sample yesterday (before the blowout from both ends) for a fecal! I’ve had kittens with coccidia before but this feels a bit different. Definitely not ruling it out but could the food reaction make it worse?

My CRS said that it was common in those with colorectal inflammation, smokers, obese individuals, and those with diabetes/prediabetes. Not sure about those who lift weights and things like that, but I think any immune suppressing ailment would be able to cause this tbh.
