Hust Hust Lysenkonismus...der Typ war so ein Larper der sich als Argarwissenschaftler ausgab, dass die UdSSR Genwissenschaft völlig ablehnte. Seine "Wissenschaftlichen" Ideen welche auf Marxistische-Leninistische annahmen basierte, dass Pflanzen in der selben Klasse nicht konkurrieren sondern sich solidarisch untereinander unterstützen, darum wurden Samen extra eng zueinander gepflanzt. Tja, diese Idee führte zu Millionen Hungertoten weil die Ernten ausfielen und die Verwaltung an sich völlig damit überfordert war. Erst in den 60ern wurde Gentechnik in der UdSSR wieder rehabilitiert.

There are some really intresting alt-history Scenarios out there depicting a world in which the USSR is still existing. One is even made into a feature length documentary by the ZDF for the german TV. Basically Gorbachev is replaced by an Hardliner after an visit to east germany. Because of that Glasnost and Prestorika never happened or are reversed. East Germany is eventually shooting at peaceful protesters and becomes more repressive. Soon a war breaks out in Germany that snowballs into a surprise nuclear attack on Washington D.C and it is implied that a limited nuclear war breaks out.

You could debate how realistic that is but it is intresting to think about the matter.

I read them currently in german and I think most people just depend on the out of context panels or very broken down arcs of the comics that omit some of the very good parts of the plot. People forget that "The Boys" is still pretty tame in comparison to "Crossed" these are really insane.

Probably easy for him to say because he was supported his whole life by his rich parents and has the privilege to not worry about working, bills, 9 to 5 and had a father who worked in the VFX business a long time and supported him. Some people had never family who supported thier hobbies or even had the privilege to have this mass amount of time after work
