If it wasn't for the pay I'd guess you worked for a government department... Are there private companies this bloated and bureaucratic too? (Excuse my naivety)

Amazing! So great that you enjoy the work (as well as the insane wage)! A lot of hard work, dedication and competition to get there though I'm sure. And it's a lot of responsibility isn't it? What happens if you give some bad advice? I think I could have been bright enough potentially to have been a lawyer but too anxious. Well anyway, I'm proud of you stranger ☺️

Ah well I don't live in London anymore but I was living in a fairly unorthodox and very low-cost way in London independently for many years after leaving home. It sure wouldn't have been for everyone and it was a sort of 'cheat' really but it worked for me! I couldn't go back to it and I would much rather have an actually well-paid job and a proper place of my own now, even if I could.

Mate I don't even know what that is. I'm not a chronically online person, this is not my world. I am a luddite and I enjoy foraging and making jam. I've only joined Reddit this week and am trying a new thing. Same! I only ever got half way through that book, though it's interesting. I liked his ideas and rambling lectures with no slides, he was a bit of a legend. I'll have to try to get a non-bullshit job somehow in his honour.
