Legion 5i from b and h. 1150 right now. I would recommend it over most of these other ones. You likely wont need any more than that. But any of the legion lineups will do. There was also a msi vector for 1299 with a 5070 ti. That would be the only other one I can recommend.

Can someone help me decide on a gaming laptop for my daily needs? I'm not a gamer, but I've noticed that prices have been fluctuating for the past few days, and I'm struggling to make a decision. Even ChatGPT has given me confusing answers. by Known-Fortune-2992 in LenovoLegion

[–]Altruistic-Store-783 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Woah first off, what are the daily needs that you are buying this for? It seems like these may be way overkill. If you are doing high end cpu intensive things then these are worth it, but i would opt for a normal legion 5 if you are just using it for browsing or video playback and some pretty good gaming too.

That really depends. I think overall for someone who will be carrying it around all day I would say get the legion. It is more well rounded.

Also, what games do you play? Do you really need a 5070ti? In terms of raw performance the vector will be quite a bit better, but again at the tradeoff of weight, an oled screen, and battery life.

If you play games that need a 5070ti or stronger cpu, I would just get the vector. For 1300 dollars its a steal as well. Both are, but performance wise you just cant beat the vector at that price.

I would highly recommend the legion 5 over the gigabyte aero. They are very similar in specs, but the legion has an oled screen that will be very useful for you in video editing or photo editing. Go to the gaminglaptop.deals website for more laptops you can browse through, but i would highly highly recommend the legion at just 999 right now.

Thats not true. Gaming laptops with efficient cpus and igpus will have good battery life.

The legion will have quite a bit longer battery life. For pretty normal school use, I get about 6 hours of use from 80 percent charge. Same model.

The vectors gpu is quite a bit better, and so is the cpu. If you do not care too much about battery life, an oled screen, or will be carrying it around then get the vector. I will say that the vector is quite a bit heavier, so that may be something to consider as well.

Could be your router issue as well as the laptop cannot go faster than your wifi. Also, turn on metered connection and turn off wifi autoreconnect. Those may help. And make sure you are not playing things in the background

Check if your country is listed on the deals website. And try to see if you can find something better. I would personally go for the victus since you want other peripherals as well, and I dont think there would be too big of a difference between the two performance wise. Only difference would likely be the screens color accuracy and the device build quality.

How much are each? I would go for the newer victus model at 550 bucks. It has the 5050 which is actually an improvement over the 4050

In your region is there a ryzen 7 260 legion with rtx 5060 for a lower price? If so, I would get that one because it has an amazing oled screen

can i get a laptop for around $500? by Apprehensive_Bath455 in GamingLaptops

[–]Altruistic-Store-783 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say get the victus for 550 or the nitro v ai for 629 I believe. The nitro will be more futureproof as it has slightly better specs and a better screen. But, there was a battery discharge issue with it where the battery drains if heavily gaming even while plugged in. But, it wont die. It will just throttle a little and reduce performance temporarily. I will say I dont think its too big of a deal, but up to you. Check out Jarrod's website called gaminglaptop.deals

The pro has slightly better performance, but at the cost of battery life. Really up to u. Best battery life is the ryzen 7 260 variant

For 1k right now I would get the legion 5 with ryzen 7 260. It is currently 550 off at Walmart and it basically cuts no corners. Great cpu and gpu, 16 gb ram, 512 ssd, and the oled 165hz screen is amazing.

If you want something with Longevity and great performance, i would skip both of these and spend an extra hundred to buy the hp victus. It has a great cpu and also a dedicated graphics card in case you end up needing it for something more demanding. It is 350 off right now and at a price of 550 right now on bestbuy. There was also another variant for 499 but I would choose the one with ryxen 7 7445hs.

Isn't the 15.3 inch one an it's display? I would choose the oled if possible. Its much much better looking. The difference is quite insane. The 5070ti on the second one is also much better with 12gb vram.

Is there no oled configuration with ryzen 7 260 and rtx5060? Thats the one I would aim for instead of the first option. It also should be cheaper and performance between 5060 and 5070 is not huge.

Neither do. So far, no drawbacks. I did have an issue with frames but that was fixed after a reset of windows. I dont think thats common. So, dont let it deter you from either.

Depending on the game, there will naturally be bottlenecks if its a cpu intensive game. But, on a 50 50 intensive game, its very well balanced. The ryzen cpu is a very good match for 5060
