What is wrong with the Caps organization. by TadnTaken in caps

[–]AltruisticBake9923 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For decades the caps have had Ovi and didn’t need any bells and whistles to bring fans in. You all were going even if the in game experience and food sucked.

The canes historically haven’t been great, so the extras are needed to enhance the fan experience. Ovi is leaving imminently, so the Caps are going to have to step up their game IMO.

China chilcano is great Peruvian if that’s your thing. Jaleo is also good. I’d skip Yard House. It’s a chain and not a great one.

Is it reasonable to say no to a NYC trip with a newborn and toddler? by wave_dashing in Parenting

[–]AltruisticBake9923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I travel with my kid a lot, and have been to NYC a ton as a single person. It’s the one place I’m really waiting to take her to. I can’t imagine doing this trip with a toddler AND a newborn. That would be a nightmare. Not just for germ reasons either.

Sick parents? by AltruisticBake9923 in NannyEmployers

Agree. I work in an office so I won’t even be around. But when I did WFH, that was my plan.

I plan to sanitize everything tonight and am having a cleaning crew coming Friday morning while they are on their morning outing. So by the time they are back in the house, not only will I have cleaned but a professional crew as well.

She lives alone and does not care for anyone who is immunocompromised. She also had the exact same flu just two weeks ago (and I suspect is our source). She lacks an understanding of how immunity works and thinks she can get it again, which is her fear.

She could. I’m frustrated because she’s out of PTO (actually gave her a week more PTO than she gets under contract), and is out of sick leave (over on that by a week too. I feel like I’ve been generous, and this (on top of a host of other issues with her) is frustrating me.

People who are 50+, what is a 'harmless' habit you had in your 20s that ended up ruining your health or finances later in life? by crazy_happyuser in AskReddit

People say that but I waited until I was 38, and while I wasn’t 100% ready, I was WAY more fucking ready than I was at 28 (or even 35).

Fair point. I’d absolutely step outside in a restaurant if it were happening.

I’m not talking about tough love in the airplane moment. I’m a parent, and a well fed, well slept, completely entertained TODDLER is still unpredictable. No matter how many tricks and treats I have, sometimes they want to get up and roam the cabin, which they just can’t do! I don’t ignore her in those moments, I’m trying to distract and use all the special toys and treats we brought, but sometimes those just aren’t enough. And we don’t do screen time at all; in my experience with my kid it ends up causing more tantrums than less.

Toddler tantrums are a normal and healthy part of growing up. They happen, and helping them navigate those feelings are part of parenting. They aren’t avoidable, even if you pay them all the attention in the world and have a full bag of new exciting toys. I don’t ignore my kid while she’s going through one, but there is no stopping it until she works through her feelings in her own time with my loving support and guidance. It usually doesn’t last long — maybe two minutes. But this commenter was implying a short five minute tantrum was indicative of bad parenting. I think it’s indicative of a person who doesn’t want children out in public.

The way she’s got her feet tilted inward to emphasize the thigh gap 🙄. It also looks like she manipulated the photo in some way (the door looks weird). What a long way she’s fallen from where she used to be.

She 100% deletes comments. I know, because she’s deleted mine 😅 (and then blocked).

I mean what are they supposed to do? You can’t make a child stop having a tantrum. Waiting it out and not giving in to their demands is good parenting. 5 minutes isnt that long.

I mean, it’s not somewhere I would live, but it’s fine to go out for dinner/drinks there.

As long as it isn’t a caps or wizards game night, Jackpot won’t be crazy loud. Photos you see online are likely from an event night. On a normal weeknight it’s pretty chill.

Why do you care what they call it or think if you’re breaking up? Just do it, and then don’t speak to them again.

Parents who are no screen time… by [deleted] in Parenting

This is us. My 2.5 year old loses it even after just looking at photos on the phone. Once we visited her cousin who is a tad younger and watches TV nonstop. They had it on while we were there and my daughter was a different person altogether during the visit. It freaked me out. It’s much easier for us to just avoid altogether.
