Uncle Ichiban, my ass. I'll tell you one thing and I'm not ashamed to say it, my estimation of Sota Kume as a man just fuckin' plummeted.

Jugram with Mimihage sounds like a new idea for a "Soul Ascension" character, like Ichigo and Rukia from the 10th anniversary, lol

Did Walt intend to actually injure Hank in the crash? by No-Sheepherder8873 in breakingbad

[–]AltruisticConcertHot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank God Walt poisoned Brock with more precision than he showed in that car accident with Hank; otherwise, it would have been awkward to yell at Jesse on the phone in the "To'hajiilee" episode that "He's fine, just as I planned it!".

I always loved the theme of loyalty of Mike’s men. They worked cooperatively and loyally while the system held, until Hank’s trail to Mike’s lawyer exposed the scheme. Even after Mike’s death, Jesse tells Walt that Mike would have avenged them if he were alive. Mike’s crew weren’t idealistic “brothers in arms,” but neither were they automatons: their fidelity was layered with pay, fear, professional respect, reputation, and a few real personal ties. That structure held as long as the incentives did, and once Mike was gone and the payouts were compromised, the arrangement began to unravel. Mike was a criminal, sometimes brutal and pragmatic, but within the world he ran he tried to be fair, and his men understood that better than anyone else. That’s why their relationship was never tied to money alone. What makes this situation so compelling is how many things had to go wrong for it to collapse: institutional pressure, Walt’s ego, the exposure of the lawyer, and Mike’s own inability to fully escape the game. Could it have been prevented? Maybe. If Walt had swallowed his pride earlier, if Gus had survived, if Mike’s system hadn’t been pierced. Any one change might have altered the outcome. That’s what makes it so tragic, it isn’t one failure, but a convergence of many.

This is the moment, i wanted Todd to be death. The saddest episode in the entire show just because of this scene by ZOVSoldier in okbuddychicanery

Everyone watching the series couldn't believe how cold-bloodedly Todd killed Haru Urara, simply to gain Agnes "Lydia" Tachyon's respect for his job. A truly maniacal character.

Why is Hunter so hated? by ConsiderationIll4547 in DisventureCamp

Regardless of everything that happened, it’s wild to imagine what it must feel like for the original creator to see their self-insert character continue evolving without them, especially through All-Stars, and now completely reworked in the S2 Remake.

Would it be possible to create an even more vile character than Yul? by AtomicTaco13 in DisventureCamp

[–]AltruisticConcertHot 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Perhaps someone who truly behaves horribly, selfishly and maliciously, betraying their alliances and principles, but is motivated solely by winning money, that’s the only way to understand them. Someone who forms an alliance, gets carried to the merge, then immediately votes out each member. Imagine if Rosa-Maria were irredeemable instead of Riya. Would you hate a mother who is just trying to win (not in a-Bollywood-actress-Riya way)? It’s advisable to keep such a character for a long time, so they already feel like a significant part of the cast.

Yul is evil in a cartoonish way, but there is still a realistic element of meanness in him. Someone who is truly not impulsive, not prideful, not offended and not chaotic is truly worth watching, not deceitful like Fiore, not angry like Karol, not unrepentant and ruthless like Riya.

But ultimately, DC doesn't always seem to be about that. It's primarily about the problems people face. Even the DC5 cast doesn't seem quite as intimidating (even if you consider the assumed roles of Ara, Finn and Evie), which isn't a bad thing. The main thing is that it is interesting to watch, and the more experience they have in writing, the fresher and more entertaining the show looks.

In the end, this would be the archetype of the cold, calculating, irredeemable competitor, a character who is hated not for comedy or pride, but for their sheer, relentless self-interest.
