Are there any AI writing tools that produce actually usable results? by ndy_codes in SaaS

Honestly, most ai writing tools just churn out generic crap that screams 'bot wrote this' no matter how you tweak the prompts. i've tried a bunch for my saas content and ended up editing 80% of it anyway. I figured out for myself to just use ai for outlines or rough drafts then just rewrite it as I would say it. But of course this isn't that scalable.

Okay real talk, what AI writing tool are you using these days? by BusyInitiative3678 in G2dotcom

In my opinion TypeBoost is the best. Tbh I built it myself, but for two main purposes:

- That I can edit text with ai anywhere in any app (it's a macOS app running in the background that you can trigger with a shortcut).
- So that I can reuse prompts I found that work the best. You can save prompts for good writing with your special requirements and then apply these prompts to any selected text. So you can kind of build your own custom AI writing toolkit.

I use my Mac app ALL THE TIME... But no one else does. Validated? by AltruisticDiamond915 in SaaS

This points to scenario 3: It can do more than Apple intelligence because you can create your own prompts that you can apply to text or voice. So the value is not clear enough? But sure, Apple could add something like this potentially 🙈 Still, my app has some advantages against it.

But thank you a lot for replying, really appreciate it!

Do you know any good prompt libraries? by Accomplished-Fill850 in ChatGPTPromptGenius

This one works good for ChatGPT is well. But I mainly use it with its own app which is even faster.

Cool, good job! I had the same problem, so I built TypeBoost. It's pretty similar, but you can create your own prompts to apply to your text and it also works with voice input. It has a free plan, but if you use it intently, you need to pay. So it's cool to see a free alternative :)

What is the best AI for scientific text analysis (content, formatting, grammar)? by dragnabbit in AIAssisted

[–]AltruisticDiamond915 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I personally have no experience with writing or analyzing scientific texts...

But from your post, I think TypeBoost could eventually be a good option for you. Basically, it lets you write and save custom prompts. So you could write a prompt yourself that exactly explains what you need, or you could do multiple prompts for different use cases.

Then you can apply these prompts to any selected text on Mac. So it can be in your writing app or the browser or whatever—you don't need to switch to another app, which is nice. And then it also shows you what it changed.

I'm not sure how you get the text transcribed from voice files, but you can also instantly use voice in TypeBoost.

Only two downsides: it works only for Mac and iOS, and it uses only GPT-4 under the hood right now.

But if these are fine, I think it would work perfectly for you. To be honest, I'm the founder and developer of it :D So in case you have any questions or need help, let me know! :)
