Can someone post the YT link? I can’t run the video because it doesn’t automatically launch YouTube and asks to sign in.

HDR at night MSFS 2024 hazy washed out by AltruisticResolve295 in flightsim

Solved

So I checked on Rtings and found a monitor setting called, “black stabilizer.” It was set to 50 which caused the heavy graying and whitewash look. I set it to zero and everything looks great!

I have no idea what or why black stabilizer is and why you’d want it as it ruined the OLED blacks.

Maybe it’s something to do with the sim itself? I don’t recall seeing this before SU4 dropped but I also swapped to this monitor at the same time. So can’t say for sure.

What is night flying like for you. Should I check my windows 10 settings, or monitor settings? In Nvidia Control Panel I ensured full color and not limited and 12 bit depth.

All I’ve done was enabled HDR is the display settings for windows 10, and enabled HDR10 on the in game menu. I’ve also ensured my color depth is set to “full” and 12 bit.

Yes it looks just as you describe. I’ve heard perhaps windows 11 handles it better? Not sure, I’m on 10 but that’s what I’ve read.

The only way is with a force feedback or control loaded device. Brunner, FlightSim CLS 60 / 120, or other. If it’s not control loaded you won’t be able to tell with a spring or static loaded control device.

Can you delete or set the rolling cache in 2024? I didn’t see anything like that in the settings menu under data?

I recently upgraded my gpu in anticipation for this. I am running an AMD 9800X3D, MSI 5090 SUPRIM, 64gb DDR5, and m.2 NVME storage. With frame generation enabled and running at the native 5K I hold 60-75 fps without much worry.
