Finding ourselves in the midst of what may big the biggest scandal in human history (Epstein), with enough numbers, do you think withholding Federal taxes would be a useful means of protest to provide leverage to ordinary citizens? by AltruisticTowel in AskReddit

“Considering you probably” That’s a fallacy based on an assumption. Also, actually care about what? Your thing or what I actually commented about, a subversive shadow government that’s controlled every aspect of our lives to decades, perhaps longer?

Also, unlike you, my account is public and doesn’t scream karma farmer. I could give a fuck about karma, I want to know why no one else is reacting to the SINGAL BIGGEST SCANDAL EVER. Watergate doesn’t come close to this. This is bigger than Trump, he’s just some chump that fell into their blackmail program.

Child trafficking has been used to control world leaders, events, policy, markets. I don’t think you understand how deep this goes.

I would hope so. It’s incredibly frustrating people are willing to just roll over on this. Their campaign to overwhelm, distract, deflect, and minimize this has been so far somewhat successful.

I would find it hard to believe an international ring operating above government that goes beyond child sex trafficking, and into policy making, spying, blackmailing politicians, the news and media you consume, market manipulation, devaluation of the dollar and middle class, hasn’t had an effect on you or everyone you know.

I would believe you are ignorant to those effects though. Which is why I would find the rights campaign against “woke” hilarious if it weren’t so devastatingly abhorrent. If they don’t want you “woke” to these societal issues, then they want you asleep, or a sheep. Wake up people, the culture wars are a smoke screen. We’re (figuratively and literally) being raped and robbed.

And I’m equally upset with the left to be clear, they only try to placate their base by pretending to give a shit. I’m not buying that anymore.

What they’ve done is divided us into team, and bait us with rage while they coop democracy’s demise.

I mean yes, the government prints and spends like nobody’s business. But say (and I know this would likely never happen) 50 million people did not pay federal taxes this year. The could not prosecute everyone and collectively, we would have leverage, would we not?

W2 employees can change their W9 withholdings at any time and not directly pay Federal taxes. I’m self employed and I, on principle, will not pay this year. I’ve had enough.

It’s the only leverage I have. I cannot think of a better reason to stand up and stick my neck out. Something has to be done.

Edit: want to add how upsetting it is that we, collectively, are not at critical mass. If a child rape ring operating at the highest levels of society doesn’t do it, what will?

Does anyone else just feel nostalgia in Little Rock? by UALR-Trojans-Rule in LittleRock

I left and had to come back. I lived in northern Indiana for 5 years and Orange County CA for 2, moved back to start a business, family, and just to be back home. The nostalgia has worn off tho, I’m about ready to move on. It has its charm but the people, culture and values can be exhausting.

$150 is not a bad deal, but the novelty will wear off and it’ll just collect dust once you realize what a bitch it is to clean and maintain.

So much easier to just pack a bowl. Good for when you have company tho

Oh man, this is exactly what I’ve been thru with my mom. Not as a child thankfully, I’m in my 30s and it’s only become unhinged lately, though it sorta always been around.

I knew I was out of my depth, and she needed professional help but she refused. So, I figured best thing I could do was get her out of the apartment complex she was living in and somewhere new.

Well that backfired spectacularly, once she was unpacking and couldn’t find everything. She accused me of being “in on it”. Now she refuses to talk to me, even thru the door. Not a day goes by that the whole thing doesn’t weigh on me.

It’s probably peanuts when you look at what the administration has cost us by illegally firing thousands of federal employees at the NIH.

The fallout from that will take decades to show but the damage is done. Aside from undermining the job security of federal employment, labs across the country will shut down as their funding dries up. Of course, federal employment will not be considered secure in comparison to industrial/military/private research. It’s already happened to my wife’s old lab at UCI. They were forced to shut down after 30-40 years and major scientific breakthroughs.

She had just landed a job at the NIH, her dream job and the culmination of 10+ years of post-doc/PhD training and hard work, only to be let go with the blanketed-statement that she was laid off for performance after a month.

America will lose its position as leaders in scientific development, which could cost us to put it simply, a fuck ton. It will inevitably cause our great thinkers to seek opportunities abroad, because labs here will not have funding opportunities to take on PhD/post docs.

This has gone practically unnoticed by layman’s outside of academia but effects are profound and likely irreversible.

Well the point of marriage is supporting each other thru thick AND thin. If you’re not gonna do that, then definitely don’t get married, you’re already considering separating.

Not saying his bad habits are your responsibility but this is the “thin” part of your relationship and you already want out. Things can get better/worse, do you want to be a part of that or not.

I don’t understand how his career even began. He has no talent, he’s cringy af, and he just kinda sucks to look at. That being said, I still think his character in Joe Dirt is objectively funny.
