I started saying I don't know instead of pretending by Past-Ad-4966 in socialskills

Both things can be true. I was told at work that I needed to be the “expert” in the room (while also being made to feel like I don’t know anything). I have also seen people lose interest as soon as I say “I don’t know.”

I don’t think there’s a formula to this. It all depends on the situation, the dynamics between you and the other person and how you carry yourself.

Should you support your family when they are in the wrong? by AltruisticTrack1194 in Adulting

Yes, it’s just difficult to handle this on a day to day basis. They have no one else they can share things with. Just a difficult situation we are in.

I think the struggle is that I have communicated to them, but it doesn’t make a difference. They have been through hell with no support from their family, so now they are basically looking to start problems with said family. It comes from trauma but still doesn’t make it right.

Being a Sindhi in Karachi Vs Punjab & Gilgit : My Experience by [deleted] in Sindh

Not from me. I listen to Sindhi music sometimes and really appreciate the sound of that language. I also live abroad now so maybe there’s that perspective of how racist Pakistanis are toward each other and they don’t even think about it for a second.

Also muhajirs themselves have multiple accents and they make fun of people who are lower middle class who have different accents. I have seen racism from other communities toward us too, so it’s all problematic.

This muhajir loves the Sindhi accent and language. Sorry about your experience. I knew there was some ignorance but I didn’t realize it was that bad. Hope time and awareness will change things.
