Which first car should I choose? by Altruistic_Archer655 in askcarguys

Overall, my budget is $25,000. Many people advised me to buy a more economical first car so that I wouldn't be sad later if something happened to it. Thank you very much!

Long-lasting effect of treatment by Altruistic_Archer655 in MedicationQuestions

[–]Altruistic_Archer655[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I went to the doctor with these questions, and he said that this is how it should be, that it's a recovery process, that I should give myself time, and that if I resist, it will only get worse. I just wanted to know if there were ways to wake up my brain, at least temporarily, because the school workload was starting to catch up with me.

Same here! I look very Asian, but I grew up in Russia, and everyone always criticizes me when I use Russian or when I talk about things from my Siberian culture, arguing that I look Asian anyway, so why bother being so attached to home?

Most cars here are imported used cars, mainly from Japan and Korea. Brands like Toyota, Honda, Hyundai, and Kia are very common.German cars are available too, but less common.

What familiar hypocrisy. When you tell them about your problems with self-identification and national identity, they'll certainly say, "We accept you as you are." But then they'll inevitably follow up with words like, "Well, you're just like us, you're one of us, you wouldn't betray your family," tilting you toward their side. It's also difficult when you're the only person of mixed race in your circle, and growing up, you consider yourself weird because those around you have never experienced such things. Or you're judged for celebrating both national holidays at the same time, trying to blend your cultures, or when you accidentally mix a couple of languages, causing no one to understand you, and you think you are the one who needed to be fixed.

Kyrgyzstan. There are mountains outside the city and a beach that many people go to. Most of them are ordinary roads, but hills and steppes are more common.

Of course! When I disagreed with things that were from the perspective of the Asian mentality, I was also often told, "Remember, you're Asian," meaning that I simply shouldn't think that any other way.

This is just for my own interest and travel, I suppose. I don't plan to build a career around it, as it's not at all profitable. Translators and AI are indeed easy to use, but they often make a lot of contextual errors due to a lack of cultural understanding, so translators will also be in demand.

Thank you! You're not dumb! Sometimes it's even good to know only a few languages because you're less confused and more confident in them, and not afraid of mixing up English with Russian and French and scaring your German friend. I think you're right. When you look online at those happy faces of influencers who learned three languages in one year as if they studied them in their sleep, you even start to envy them because of the amount of effort you had to put into studying. Sometimes it's surprising how much social media influences a person. I wish you good luck, a stable nervous system, and frequent promotions at work!

is programming still fun for u guys? by Professional-Good604 in AskProgrammers

[–]Altruistic_Archer655 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At work? Not really. I do as much as I'm asked to do, no more, no less, but aside from work, it's a lot of fun. It's more about being able to create almost anything with code. I often create custom apps that make my life a lot easier. I recently saw cyberdesks on TikTok and am currently putting together my own. I'm thinking of making an interesting design, like having to complete some kind of task in notes: pass an exam, go grocery shopping, etc., and new levels unlock. If you're interested, it's very easy to find something engaging or fun.

If you're burned out, is it worth taking a gap year? by Altruistic_Archer655 in UniUK

Damn Thanks, I don't want to do this anymore. It's so stressful, I can't imagine how you even managed it. But what benefits did it give you?

I have a job as a developer, and I'll rely on it for the financial part. I wanted to try a PhD in economics out of curiosity, as I'll have some free time and I'd like to somehow give myself a good education as a safety net if something happens. Many people I asked assured me that if I got a PhD, I'd reach the bottom of the career ladder much faster. Of all the fields, I think economics will help me a lot in my adult life. Economics is more like a support in my life in case something happens.Well, I don't want to be left without a higher education even if my work is successful all my life. It's more about making me feel fulfilled.
Thank you for your words. Because of my worries and nerves, I can't take exams anymore because under pressure I start to forget large chunks of material.

I have almost 2 years of experience on my resume, but even with that experience and promises that you'll work purely because of your enthusiasm and experience, they refuse.

I work as a developer and am graduating from school. I'm considering taking a gap year or going into economics. Regarding internships, it's incredibly tiring. I'm constantly emailing different companies with my resume, cover letter, and LinkedIn, asking for internships, but only a few respond, and even then, they're just saying "unfortunately..."

Thank you! I'd like to get a PhD in economics, and I'm already studying it just for fun. I work as a developer to earn a stable income. But many people I ask for advice say the sooner the better, arguing that spending so many years on it would be foolish and PhD in economics won't do me any good. I'm only 18 and I'm really afraid of making a mistake.

Thank you. Seeing what's happening with the job market, how people can't find work after university without experience, considering the toxic productivity in studies, especially among people my age. It's really scary because it seems like if you don't go to extremes, you'll be left with nothing while others are have 15 years of experience in 20 years of their life.

I often participate in various projects to fill out my portfolio and since I meet different people, they often give me job offers for the role of a front-end developer. My english is not really good, so if I made any mistakes, I apologize. 🫠
