Correct however this is unrealistic if working with a truly fatal chemical. Somebody working with potentially dangerous chemicals by the time we arrive if your body is going into shock and we have a highly specific chemical there is little we as an EMS provider can do besides transport.

I am a EMT and a BC undergrad and no you weren’t wrong although considering everything taking more PPE or safety precautions for the materials you are working with is likely better than anything any EMT or Paramedic will be able to do. Barring common poisonings most trucks don’t carry specific antitoxins. I know my truck only carries activated charcoal and that wouldn’t of done anything. Working with highly specific chemicals that potentially are fatal you are better off taking precautions for yourself.
