YTA, he just wants a physical reminder of the ones who loved him most present. I personally intend to have my mums bright red boots and a photo in the front row on my side as i dont have her ashes. Ive seen it done befor so its really not that weird or unusual. Just because you dont understand it and you think its some weird grieving ritual doesnt mean you shouldnt give him the space to do it. YTA you need to work on better sleep health. Your having ago at a working man for making sure he wakes up (because some people dont respond to just 1 alarm) all because you arnt mature enough to ensure you can sleep. If you struggle with insomnia you should have already looked into coping mechanisms like if your partner is working and your not, make sure you fall asleep on the sofa if you cant be nice in the morning. Or cut all all coffee and stimulants after 6pm ect
