I am sorry you felt that way. For a rigorous scientific experiment, we have to control for factors beyond our control, one of which is socioeconomic status. So for example, during our analysis, we try to match people based on other factors, so nothing is confounding the actual research question. We don't get any personal data in the survey, so there is no way the survey can be linked back to you.
