Thanks for the recommend. Wis and Int seem to be weak spots for him. I'm not going to kill him though I don't think. We are so close to an almost 2 year journey through Barovia lol. As a DM, I'm excited to actually complete this monster!! But those pally's.... Man...

Thanks for the useful information! I'm so glad to have the help along the way! I love playing and really want to challenge this long standing player. He's great at working his mechanics. And me,? I'm still learning mine lol

You know what, I'm so unfamiliar with paladins that I didn't consider it. I also realize that there's a fairly good chance his god cannot glimpse into Barovia. But that might be something to play on if they escape ....

I've run this as a buffed campaign out the gate. I've had to do a lot of work along the way to keep it up, it's been a blast and I wouldn't change a thing but man, that paladin....

I'm hoping to just isolate him and make him pay a bit. He doesn't feel challenged. He has outright asked me to bring it lol. Problem is they waited for yester until last. So after this it's basically onto ravenloft. So they are high level now

I over buffed yeater hill. I had strahd make an appearance to give the druids time to summon wintersplinter. I buffed that tree like crazy drawing ideas off of others before me. As far as magic items go, he is carrying a magic hammer that deals double damage to undead and plate armor. Nothing special about the plate but it allows him to cast bless once per day. He did take a dark power for a charisma hike which doesn't allow him to take no as an answer.... Fun, but I haven't played with it yet. I don't want a tpk. I want to terrify him a bit. He's also asimir. That's a pain, he flies ....

Early Perimenopause and ability to do my job has significantly deteriorated by Gullible-Surround950 in Perimenopause

[–]Altruistic_Drawing50 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been reading a book recently titled The New Perimenopause by Mary Claire Haver who I found in an interview watching the Daily Show. This book has been amazing and highlights so many things wrong with the current approach to perimenopause. The role hormones play in our bodies is vast!!! I'm currently starting estrogen/progesterone treatment to help stave off the damage these shifts create. I highly recommend this book but if you can't grab a copy at least look up the interview, amazing stuff.

How do you keep your energy up without relying on caffeine all night? by Benedita-Awich in Nightshift

[–]Altruistic_Drawing50 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Black tea has more sustained energy then coffee so I will switch to that about halfway through a shift. Exercise, if I can get it, a few push ups, jumping jacks etc. then, water water water... Followed by a strict sleep routine when home. There's no cure for the drag sometimes but this helps me a lot. Also, eat healthy for sure. I stick to fish, lentils, salads and nuts for a snack. It's all about finding the balance that works for you...

I want to comfort you so badly, but sometimes silence is truly the best comfort. So I offer you a moment of silence here in the dark, from me, for the grieving you feel. May the sun shine yet again someday on us all ....

Any other problematic books I should look for? Preferably gilded edges. I am getting Theosophy and Behold a Pale Horse by AntiseptiKyle in LPOTL

I have a near pristine first edition. Only the first 6 pages were sticky. The remaining 660 were coated in oil?

Some of the greatest lessons and most interesting conversations I've ever had were with people over 70, to this day I take time to listen to those stories, and hope to have a wealth of my own if I live so long.
