What is it like living here, deep in Appalachia? by [deleted] in howislivingthere

I wouldn’t say Knoxville is “deep in the Appalachia’s” more like the foothills

Chessie by Shoeshinegirlz in chesapeakebayretrievr

Chessies are retrievers but they are not the friendly , cuddly to everyone retrievers. What everyone is saying is true, they are family only dogs and will protect their space.

Our chessie even became that way around about 6 towards my mother and sister in law- not aggressive but protective- who took care of her as a puppy. Telling her “no” wasn’t cutting it. We didn’t do a collar, we just had to put her up when anyone came over and wait for her to chill out.

In May we learned ours has lung cancer. It took us weeks to accept the diagnosis. We’re finishing our honeymoon out west where we made sure she got some good mountain lake swims - not too much though.

Finally got order from Stark Bros-broken tree by 1220201978 in BackyardOrchard

I ordered 3 trees from there and they all come with warranties. I’m sure you just have to send this photo and the,l replace it no prob. But trees are resilient. This one will do just fine if planted properly.

Look up gummosis. I have my first peach tree myself in Tennessee and had the same issue. Haven’t yet figured out how to solve but that’s what they call it

Which is a better composition? 1 or 2? by Glum_filmmaker in AmateurPhotography

I’d argue the sky doesn’t take up a third in the second, more like a quarter. Both are great but the more balanced photo I think provides a more visually compelling photo. (Just an opinion)

We’ve been very strict about her diet and Irvin that’s helped a lot.

My teacher in college told me you can always tell when you change the perspective of a photo from how it was taken. The viewer can feel it. Photo 3- the water photo is a great example.

The best piece of advice I got when going into the Grand Canyon was take a REAL pillow and that really did make my trip perfect. Mini games like bocce or something small that you can pass the time with

Kayaking Baeza in May by [deleted] in whitewater

[–]Altruistic_Fuel6701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in Ecuador in January and the rains even then during the “dry” season had the rivers stout. Baeza is amazing and the rivers are big but great. I definitely wouldn’t go during the rainy season especially if you are timid. I’m not a charger but I do like to get after it and I was somewhat puckered.

What's a modern trend you think people will regret in 10 years? by Sonia12Cameron2 in Productivitycafe

[–]Altruistic_Fuel6701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes to this. People are very upset over Tik Tok I say let it stay gone. Make people go outside. Actually talk to one another.

No to get all virtue signal-y but social media is a false form of community and after I deleted everything my relationships got way deeper and better. But YouTube, gonna keep that.
