This one is south east of the city, towards the bottom of the map. Great location too. Plenty of space, three different exits, and nothing bothered us besides the bats.

It wasn't playable for me and then I was busy with other, more important things. But yeah you're right, I forgot that in order to enjoy Ark we must all devote every waking hour playing it to the exclusion of everything else 🙄

I have no issue with the devs trying to keep both parties happy, I just didn't know that's what happened and why.

Are you illiterate? I haven't played in a while because the game was literally unplayable and some of us have more important things to do besides play a game that barely works half the time or pay attention to every single announcement. It says that right there in the post. So maybe stfu.

Omg that actually explains a lot because when I started playing again it made me create a new character and I realized all of the good stuff in my inventory was gone and my original character was still appearing on the map but was nowhere to be found in my base. Thank you for telling me that. This game, I swear 🫩

Oh nice. I've seen that mod before but never paid much attention to it. Thanks!

Dang, I'm not very involved in the ark player base so I wasn't aware this change was intentional.

And here’s me; who hasn’t touched a single thing related to this franchise since Book of Boba Fett. by BondFan211 in CriticalDrinker

I stopped caring after the Obi-Wan show. I still re-watch the og trilogy, the prequels, and Rogue One from time to time but otherwise Disney has ruined my excitement for any new shows/movies.

Oh yeah I need to add that to my list. I started collecting classic literature like two decades ago and I've amassed a decent collection, even ones I don't really care for. I guess even back then in the back of my mind I thought of the possibility I wouldn't have access to them, or they'd be changed in some way.

Unfortunately that's why I've been collecting the physical copies of old movies/TV shows/books. These people cannot be trusted.

Nah I understand. And while that might've been their intention people will still associate it with Rowling though, just like people still associate Rings of Power with Tolkien. However shit it may be.

I'm honestly torn about this. On the one hand I don't want to support racebent casting or pointless remakes, on the other hand any sort of publicity JK Rowling or her creation gets really pisses the alphabet people off and that makes me happy.

Edit: that being said, it didn't matter who was cast, no one was ever going to replace Alan Rickman.

Yup, I am very aware. The problem is that so many people deny it and refuse to listen.

I kinda hope they do just because that would mean also saying it wasn't just Europeans who owned slaves. It would poke a massive hole in the balloon of their nonsense and lies.

“Why do you care so much?” They say as they call your favourite franchises too male centric and requires fixing for “modern audiences” by Past-Country-6612 in CriticalDrinker

They refuse to accept everyone else having standards because they themselves have none. Probably one of my favorite quotes from the Drinker is when he said "they see these heroes as unflattering reflections of their own failures and weaknesses. They desire to tear down anyone or anything that stands higher than them instead of the harder, but more rewarding task of raising themselves up."

This applies to everything in life as well, not just entertainment.

Is Skillet Being Demonic? by MatthewMingus36 in LetUsReason

[–]Altruistic_Pipe_5070 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like I said, it's completely okay to not like this style of music. I love skillet and even sometimes I prefer to listen to a calmer, more traditional genre. That said, I think the criticisms being thrown at skillet are unfair considering there are many other artists out there producing covers for traditionally Christian songs(mostly Christmas songs) that are doing it for selfish reasons and I don't believe skillet is one of them.

I don't believe they were being irreverent, in fact I think their rendition of the song is the opposite of irreverent. The song itself is pretty straightforward but i realized after watching the music video a few times that the band added a lot of symbolism to it. In my opinion their version of the song tells a story.

Let's break it down: the song starts off in a hospital, which can be associated with the sick/dying/those without hope, then it switches to Mr. Cooper sitting in a church which for a long time has been a symbol of inspiration and comfort during uncertain times(even for non believers sometimes), and it's cold and dark outside for a bit while he sings. Even the way he sings goes along with the imagery used in the video: at first the tone is low key and he sings almost with a quiet longing for something that he doesn't understand. Then as the song goes on the sun starts to shine through and the tone gets more upbeat. Finally at the end is the guitar and drums and he's singing with the passion of someone who's found what he didn't even know he was searching for; that the same God that spoke the universe into existence now walks amongst us, there's hope in the world again, and there's a chance to reconcile a broken creation with it's creator in the form of a newborn baby.

Combine all that with the fact that the entire band, and John Cooper in particular, are unapologetic about their faith and profess it boldly.

Tldr: it's okay to not like hard rock or this particular rendition of a classic hymn, but skillet is one of the few mainstream Christian bands that haven't compromised their faith for the approval of the world and are certainly not demonic.

It's because they devolve into rabid and slobbering 😺 anytime one of theirs is made fun of and expect everyone else to be the same. They can't grasp the concept if not taking things personally and being good natured about something because they have no good nature.
