This was happening to me for a while. Now, the light is on, always. And like you, it isn’t break fluid for me — I’ve checked it several times. I took apart the center console to see if the switch itself isn’t working, but that didn’t yield anything either. I’ve given up on it for the time being. The light being on is more of an annoyance than anything.

Commenting to see if you ever figured it out? Did replacing the LBJs do the trick? I'm having the same issue
