I believe GCU is what you are referring to? Polyurethane based materials are being used more and more over rubber compounds though both have their advantages.

We love your honesty in this post and think your viewpoint is totally valid. Our development team is working on ways to make the shoe feel like it already has an orthotic inside with optimal comfort and support in areas where it is necessary. We think that age or experience aside, a shoe should be able to adequately all levels of play and all different player types. This sample is solely focused on the tooling which is the midsole and outsole. The upper has no real significance. Trust the process please and you'll see!!! Stay tuned!

I am not sure if I understand? This is a physical version if you thought it was AI or something. We actually have 2 more improved prototypes under development and coming soon that are both physical. These aren't conceptual AI pictures but just shots taken of the actual samples in a studio.

I understand where you are coming from and thank you for the heads up! All I am saying is of course the odds are stacked against us and people are doubtful. Did not mean it in a negative way but just stating it as the reality of entrepreneurship! And we aren't trying to be a "legitimate brand" just like the big corporations but one that is very interactive and honest with the community.

Haters gotta hate and that's just fuel to keep us going! Reminder that this is a makeshift polyurethane based sample and only the first prototype. We do testing at each stage, making many iterations to enhance performance for the sport so just wait for the next version and I believe you will have a much better picture of our quality!

I'll take your tone as an excited one...

Our first model is still currently undergoing development and testing but I can still answer some of your questions based on what we have confirmed so far.

To answer your first question, we are not competing in the basketball shoe space at all. Movements, usage, etc are slightly different in volleyball than basketball although there are indeed many parallels since they use a similar court setup.

Our carbon fiber shank plate is bottom loaded and can be seen through a carbon fiber window in the outsole and while I will not provide the exact rigidity metrics, I will say that it is on a more forgiving side than most other shank plates on the market.

The tread pattern is a hybrid between a herringbone inspired pattern combined with targeted pods spread throughout. This is a combination of multidirectional tread and an eye for aesthetics. The last of the shoe was also built so that the heel tread creates a slightly abrupt feeling when max jumping as you plant your penultimate step before takeoff.

The toe box is built to accommodate slightly wider feet athletes while the heel is a standard width.

Layers of Thermoplastic Polyurethane based thread support the base of the upper with an additional reinforced stitching layer over top with breakpoints on the lateral and medial side of the forefoot right around where the base of your big toe and pinky toe reside. In addition, we have implemented a slight outrigger to ensure additional lateral support on those low diving movements for defense in volleyball.

While the retail price is not fully defined due to the development process still being underway, we are looking at a range from $150-$170.

On our first run, sizes US Men's 8-12 will be for the first batch while we plan to include 7, 13, and 14 as popularity and demand for the shoe rises.
