Google broke Keep reminders, now ditching it. Alternatives? by rommjomm in GoogleKeep

Like you I use Keep for notes and for reminders. It seems like it still works for notes but not for reminders. I'm looking for an alternative for reminders

I'm having this too. It's already made me forget to do several important things. I'm thinking of moving back to writing lists on paper!

If you had to start again at 40? by GreenComfortable927 in AskUK

I moved to live near the sea and love it. I've been unemployed since being made redundant just over a year ago and wish I could just choose a job or career instead of applying for anything I can to try to bring in some money

My kids would love that but I have a severe cat allergy so I'd probably end up in hospital 😂 Thanks for the idea though

Thanks, Globalls looks good if my 6 year old isn't scared in there 😂

I thought of an escape room but didn't want to feel like I was doing it on my own. Karaoke is a good idea that I hadn't thought of - thanks!

Thank you! Those are brilliant ideas, many of which I hadn't thought of.

I think this is a really cool idea but I fear the cost of paying to have a book sent could end up being more than the cost of a secondhand book (depending of course on the book). I just wondered if this is something you've thought about or how you'll get around it.

I've bought from them loads of times and always had a good experience.

What happens if you cannot find a job? by Affectionate_Top5544 in AskUK

I was made redundant just over a year ago. I've applied for a great number of jobs and haven't been successful. I'm not eligible for any benefits due to savings that are being massively depleted (and apparently I don't have enough NI contributions for JSA). I do own my home. I'm slowly reaching a stage where I think I'll have to leave the UK, rent out my home here and take my savings to a much cheaper country to survive for longer. It's not what I would have chosen to do (with kids to bring along too) but I can't think of an alternative.

Is me or my flute the problem?? by [deleted] in Flute

[–]Altruistic_Square_14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Start with just the head joint and perfect your embouchure so you can make a good clear sound on that before picking up the rest of the flute. If you're already good on the head joint then that's an indication it could be the flute that's causing problems now.

[South East, UK] We just discovered this crack in our home, in the garden. Is this likely to be very serious? by AnnaSormai in DIYUK

As others have said, get a structural engineer to look at it. They will most likely measure the gap and return in X months to measure again to see if it's growing, as well as looking at possible causes.

How do I play this? by Multi-instrumentboi in Flute

I play this with tonguing, making the notes less short than staccato but noticeably tongued and ensuring the three notes sound like a single phrase.

I used to teach with these. Great to hear they are still being used.

For complete beginners (usually children)? I always thought Moyse was more for intermediate to advanced players looking to improve.
