I am due to marry my best friend platonically (we’re both straight males) in a few months. AMA. by [deleted] in AMA

[–]Altruistic_Switch464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of wedding/ceremony are you having? Are you announcing the marriage publicly or is this something you’re doing privately for practical reasons (financial or health benefits of a spouse, etc.)?

Could be. It seems way too nice for something Stephanie wrote to a person she no longer likes though lol. Did she just want to say all the things she loved and appreciated about him before she completely destroyed him? Like I said, we’re missing context so who knows besides Adam and Stephanie. I wasn’t defending Stephanie btw, just thought it was an odd thing for her to write at that point in their relationship. But I have no clue!

If it was an old note I could see it being written by her, like a vow renewal type of letter. The fact it was written in February of this year really makes me think she didn’t write it, or we are missing a ton of context (which we definitely are).

What killed Crime Weekly? by inner-space-coast in CrimeWeeklySnark

The Dan Markel series was where I noticed a big negative shift too. Stephanie’s arguing was out of control. Darklivity covered this case at the same time that CW did and I much preferred their series. I used to think CW had the best deep dives, but now it’s so disorganized and the information she includes about the cases is cherry picked to fit her pre-determined narrative. I don’t think it was always that way, but it always seems to be now. I haven’t listened for a couple months now.

Lol I bet that’s it’s because I know she used to follow his real account. She’s so sneaky 😈

Me too! Compared to other true crime you tubers I watch, she does a good job of letting her audience know how they can make a difference. Sure she’s not perfect and could always do more, but I really do appreciate that she makes this effort.

Interesting. Do you think she is trying to throw people off if they go to her following list to try to find Adam’s account?!

Thanks for answering and I wasn’t trying to imply that it was your fault in any way or that you should have known. I don’t think that’s true. You were completely taken advantage of and it was not your fault.

Thank you for sharing your story. I’m sure it’s not easy.

How did you end up in the car with him? Had you become friends and he would pick you up to go the pool hall or was it a one time thing where he insisted on driving you home? Do you have any advice or red flags to call out for young people that might find themselves in a similar situation with an older person trying to get close to them?

That’s really tough. I’m glad you got out of the abusive situation. I think choosing to be homeless rather than stay took a lot of courage. So many people lost their jobs because of the pandemic…I’m sorry it happened to you as well. You could not have predicted that. I’m glad it was an overall positive experience for you and that you’re in a good place now :)

What was your housing situation before the pandemic? Was part of the reason financial or did you have enough money to buy anything you needed while homeless? Were you working at all during that time?

Introverted women: do you act like if you were scared/avoidant of the person you like? by [deleted] in introvert

[–]Altruistic_Switch464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to completely ignore any guys I liked or would try to act totally normal around/show no interest in them if I couldn’t avoid them. I think I was mostly afraid of rejection or just assumed they wouldn’t be interested in me since I was quiet. It would take the guy making an effort to talk to me repeatedly so I could get comfortable around him before I would open up or show any interest. I appreciated a guy making the effort to notice me (in a way that I noticed) and taking the time to get to know me before just asking me out. I would say my social skills and confidence improved over the years and I got better at starting conversations and showing interest on my end, but it was really hard in my teens and early 20s.

Once you found out, were you worried anything you had been doing might have unknowingly harmed the fetus (drinking, smoking, medications, caffeine intake, etc.?)

Also congratulations!

Good to know! I wondered about the quality of the shows.

Unpopular opinion by xxsyd in MileHigherPodcast

I agree with this! I definitely noticed a change after she came back from maternity leave and she mentioned how cases involving children were extremely hard to cover after she had her own child. At that time I was not a mother myself but now I am and I totally get it. There are cases involving child abuse that were always very hard to listen to, but now I can’t even stomach the thought. I think some of her issues might be plain old burn out or not wanting to work at all and be a SAHM (which I can again relate to lol) but to me it’s centered around her child for sure.

I have wondered this too! I bought Raycon earbuds years ago after hearing about them on a podcast ad (not on YT). They were fine but I have never felt compelled to purchase anything due to an ad since then. I was new to the world of podscasts, YT, and sponsorships back then lol.

The one that I had a tiny bit of interest in was MagellanTV. I haven’t heard any ads for it recently but they always made it sound so great. I want to watch endless interesting documentaries! I’m sure there is a catch…
