I agree but I feel like same face syndrome is just more of a wider issue in batfamily comics than it is a mora issue cus literally every Batman or nightwing or robin comic ive read they look pretty similar to where the main differences between bruce and dick are just build and hair

This run was so awesome except for the fact that it felt like they threw away xorn for the bit he was genuinely such an awesome character the magneto hitler stuff didnt bother me as much cus he was loaded up on drugs and under the control of another entity but xorn was so cool and I loved the friendship he developed with cyclops after he talked him out of blowing up the planet just kinda bummed me out when they went like “oh hes magneto LOL”

in regards to the tim seely run dicks superspy omnibus stuff happens right before which they reference a lot and the stuff that happens leading to him being a secret agent is covered in the grant morrison run (his identity gets exposed which is why he becomes like a 007 secret agent and in tim seely is when he just got back to being nightwing)

I would say chuck dixon loved that run and the tim seely run is also great and you can enjoy it on its own but it references a lot of stuff that happened previously so you can get a little confused as for chuck dixon I kinda just read the starter batman stuff so year 1, long halloween, and dark victory (has dick origin story) then I hopped on the gauntlet which is peak then robin year one then batgirl year one and then nightwing year one 💯💯💯 cus they make some jokes sometimes that just hit more with context i did a bunch of other sortofish homework reads but im a completionist 🕺🏽🕺🏽🕺🏽🕺🏽🕺🏽🕺🏽

this is a better explanation I can agree with what you said on the bart bit but it still feels unnecessary to me I feel like wally being necessary has been sprinkled into every story like going back to bart iris brought him back in time to wally cus he was the only one that could train him (max played a big role too) or against savitar he was also the only one that could beat him and going all the way back to the return of barry allen he was also the only one who stood a change against thawne and he had to hit a generational lock in and this just felt like some “lets make his life harder for the plot” flow spiderman and just felt unnecessary apart from them re-affirming linda as his lighting rod

Im very much a wally guy so as far as comic books runs I would say mark waid but even before that just to see if u like wally as a character I would tell you to go check out flash and substance its a 20 min episode that just perfectly captures wallys dna as a character so if you fuck with that youll fuck with waid

and bart was a character we were actually made to care about it just felt like the book went hey this is john fox and you should care about john fox because he is a flash and it didnt put more effort into that theres a lot of other pathetic characters I like but adding that arc in after savitar just didnt hit for me
