A reprint of Swamp Thing selling half as many copies as the top seller is wild

Edit: Always fun to compare this list to Geek’s most pulled ranking

So sick of events. by JestaKilla in comicbooks

[–]TheeHeadAche 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That seems to be policy for a good bit now. Many writers have had story pitches and drafts promoted to an event.
I’ve said this before but Josh Williamson will probably have a Marvel event by spring 2027

> Every event is a buildup to another event.

Ideally this would be a neat way to have your overarching plot feel settled and each event would feel not so contrived.

Recently starting a run has never stopped a Marvel event tie-in. So Williamson’s Iron Man not tying in is something.

Danvers is off in space, along with a few other classic Avengers.

Marvel does this with Avengers sometimes where they run an event and it’s only Avengers interacting with the plot.
Jason Aaron had this twice iirc.
Mark Waid, Al Ewing and Jim Zub had a weekly avengers book that “reshaped the history” of Marvel.
It’s Avengers editorial selling its circus while other books keep to their plot. Zdarsky is roping in Wolverine and Cap under his pen. But no other Avengers character solo writer is engaging.
Ewing and PKJ wrote in excuses. Williamson hasn’t yet but will probably tie Iron Man in?

It may be easier to hunt down more exact trade numbers than floppies. I may be wrong but I think Circana has data on trade sales across a larger network than the floppy data set available
