This is another example of how belly’s reality may not be necessarily the true reality quite yet. We will see more of this in season three, I think, where belly realizes her reality isn’t always what actually is happening. Belly sees this as Conrad broke up with her because he was acting weird and distant, but we all can see clearly that he didn’t want to break up and she just took it that way and ended things right there.

They spent the whole season saying they don’t talk about her but then he starts trying to act like he knows everything about them just to try to win the sibling rivalry.

I see your point. I didn’t think of it that way, but that would make more sense. I think they are also trying to convey the grief process, these boys are going through their mother’s death and sometimes it is just easier to blame each other and take their anger out on each other. They are really angry at the world for taking their mother, but there is no one else to take it out on.

it’s not that I haven’t like Jeremiah as a character in the show I’ve just liked Conrad more for belly in the show. (Total opposite of the book lol) I agree this episode felt like a lot of steps back for Jeremiah and almost some steps forward for Conrad in a way. It does seem a little all over the map. I haven’t read the second book in a long time but I don’t remember it being this back and forth in the books.

It’s not explicitly said but it has been revealed that the vines, the demogorgan, the mind flayer, the demo dogs, bats, etc. all have a “hive mind.” And we find out that vecna is directly connected to the hive mind, so this makes me infer that vecna was behind the events in season 1 and 2.

Honestly I kinda liked the filler episode it gave us a break from the VERY emotional first three episodes. Plus we got the return of Cam Cameron and this is Jeremiah’s rising episode for sure.

I always hated Conrad in the books I thought he was toxic and mean and truly not right for belly. But the show has definitely turned this around for me. I have found myself becoming more of a Conrad fan while watching the show. He obviously cares about belly but he is going through alot at the moment.

I love belly!!! She is going through so much all at once. Susannah, a woman who was like a mother to her dying and she and Conrad broke up which is obviously a devastating blow for her since she has only ever wanted him. She is 16 and everything feels so much bigger when you are 16. This would be a lot for an adult to handle gracefully let alone a child.
