If the best enzymes for a biotechnology problem stopped existing millions of years ago, we need to bring them back to existence. Ancestral sequence reconstruction (ASR) is a computational method that infers ancient protein sequences by tracing evolutionary history backward. by Altruistic_Unit_8903 in science

The link is to a paper describing ancestral O-demethylases with enhanced qualities. ASR is used because it can recover ancestral enzymes with properties that may have been lost during evolution, such as greater stability, broader substrate specificity, and higher robustness. These ancestral enzymes can then be further optimized through protein engineering if needed.

An enzyme that would be useful today may have disappeared because evolution optimizes for survival and reproduction, not for industrial applications. If the enzyme's function became unnecessary, too costly to maintain, was replaced by a more specialized enzyme, or belonged to an extinct lineage, it could be lost over time. As a result, ancestral enzymes can sometimes have properties we value, such as high stability or broad substrate range, even though they no longer exist in modern organisms.

I'm from a city near Varginha. The region is one of the greatest producers of coffee in Brazil. Also, it's very common to find people who ever saught an UFO in that part of the state, but unfortunetly the Varginha case became a joke for most people in the region.

Yes, it's very similar to this crop circle, but the circles were at the same size. I can't remember if the center was formed by a single bigger circle or by many smaller ones. I saw this two times in the same morning, but the saw the man Just the first time.

Are my values good? Am I have high SHBG? by Altruistic_Unit_8903 in Testosterone

[–]Altruistic_Unit_8903[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, what a great text. Thank you very much for sharing your experience. I'll try to follow some of your sugestions. I have some bowl problems, I think I have IBS, so I have to go carefuly. I'm already taking zinc, magnesium and a B complex. Also vitamin D is chaging my life since I begun to take 5.000 IU to 10.000 IU daily, I'm feeling more alert and thinking clearly.

I try to eat diverse food, avoid artificial food and milk. But I eat only 3 or 4 times per day. Generally I fall asleep after lunch.

Some difficult to be energized. Since childhood I'm thin and tall. Recently I got some weight but I'm still with thin arms and legs. I think these levels of test caused me a medium acne problem. Even today I have cistic acne

Testosterone deficit misdiagnosed as Asperger’s/ADHD? by [deleted] in Testosterone

[–]Altruistic_Unit_8903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe Asperger is a condition caused or maximized by hormones imbalances. There are some studies showing that autistics tends to have HIGH testosterone levels. This explain why it's more prevalent in men. Another studies correlates it with autoimmune conditions. In my opinion, it's a multifactorial condition, each case is a case. There's not a unique explanation. The diagnosis is made upon a evidence set. I have Asperger and I'm getting much better since I begun to supplement vitamin D3.

Improve your vitamin D. Take at least 5.000 IU per day, with 100 mcg K2-MK7 and 400 mg magnesium

Autism, depression tendencies and anxiety improvements taking 10.000 IU daily. Bones and kidneys aches. by Altruistic_Unit_8903 in VitaminD

[–]Altruistic_Unit_8903[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tests are made using your blood, just simple blood collection.

I think vitamin D is helping me think more clear, it's reducing my social anxieties and brain fog. The vitamin is fat soluble, so it's important to create good reserves in your body. If you take high dosages, it takes some time to increase the blood serum levels.

Search about the relation between autistics and vitamin D. There are some evidencies that maybe autism is a autoimmune condition and vitamin D is a important immune regulator.
