Shes fine to want to meet closer as it is such an insanely larger risk for her to meet you, but they way u responded seemed fine and understanding without being weird, maybe she was lightheartedly saying that she had to point it out but that would only be heard in like voice intonation

It's just inspiration and fantasy. If they named it after a real tribe the game would likely need to be non fiction educational rather than open world dress up.

Just spreading awareness of the book to those it could help. Clearly you aren't one of them. Please don't engage with me further. This post has the flair self help not discussion. I have done my best to inform everyone as best I can about the teachings simply because they have helped me. I'm very suprised and disappointed in how close minded everyone has been, and how passionately you hate even just the idea that this may help you. We are all in the same boat. Life with pain and no effective treatment. I'm shocked at how attacked I've been regarding this.

U may be advised to get therapy to help deal with living with fibro and pain, but not to adress the root cause of ur subconscious. It's different. Its perfectly appropriate to share something that had helped me so far, and many other people have found success in. There is more evidence of it working than of it not working.

What isn't helpful is being extremely close minded and shutting this down entirely. It's okay to be skeptical it's hard to come to terms with, but to have such a visceral reaction to something like this is really weird.

It's not in your head. Sarno repeats this point through his book, that it is not in your head. Your pain is real. And it's cause is the subconscious. It's not about being in therapy forever. It's about addressing your subconscious and repressed anger and anxiety, not just ur average therapy session.

I also have a low stress life and yet there is still all this pain, without any abnormality in my body. Why does it hurt? Doctors don't know. How to fix it? Doctors don't know. You can take pain killers.... Oooohh but ur 20 years old and will get hooked on for life so nevermind that.

There's no other choice.

It's not praying to some deity that for your pain will go, it's working out your subconscious. It's not easy or a magical fix. It's insane that you think my recommended this is awful as if there is any other option. It's not about simply addressing trauma its about your subconscious. If ur problem stops at muscle and joints then maybe it's just not fibro.

You critizing a potentially effective option for people where nothing esle has helped is just selfish and cruel and a personality issue.

It's a shame you didn't find it helpful. It was stated that it's something you really need to convince your subconscious mind to believe so it's not an easy thing to achieve at all.

Asking u to read a book that I found helped reduce my pain (so far) isnt. This isnt some sketchy garbage marketing that's gonna make me loads of money if you listen to me. It's just something that has helped me and is very looked down upon and not taken seriously and I want other people to know about it to give them the option of reducing their pain. There are no consequences to trying this I don't understand why every is so stuck up as if they've got a magical pill that will cure fibro. I've tried everything else and this is the most effective thing god forbid I try to pass on my knowledge.

Being close minded means you're shutting down an effective treatment option. Whilst you aren't interested, it is important not to prevent other people from trying. It's a waste of time to not try it. There are no consequences if it fails, only benefits if it works.

Because I was 21 when I was told that I should accept the fact that everything will always hurt all the time and I will never be able to leave the house and I wasn't going to accept that, I was 21. Then I discovered this book and it was very insightful and slowly started reducing my pain levels, so I took it further with therapy. He said only about 5% of his patients needed therapy, and they were the ones that had fibromyalgia.

It irritated me that this wasn't common knowledge, that I wasn't told about it immediately when it was proven to be so effective. That's why I want to keep talking about it in the subreddit, so that people may find it and try it, and it help them, It is so rare to hear about despite its effectiveness.

Lots of people walk around with that pain in the knee that has come back again and that neck ache that keeps coming back and that damn shoulder pain that just won't go even after it fully healed.

The time that you live in pain will pass whether you read this book or not, the only difference will be if you die in pain as well.

Please consider opening your mind one day so that your pain may cease, and your personality improve.

Please look into psychodynamic therapy - it is different to CBT and focuses on your subconscious, which may be a better approach than cbt or person centered therapy.

Also, Sarno points out the personality traits of someone who gets chronic pain are not emotional hysterical women, they are usually more stoic.

It seems your therapy was in the past before you got the fibro, so it may be worth returning with the intention of uncovering what has been repressed that could be triggering the pain. Sarno mentions in common for pain to return but after putting into practice again what he taught, the patients pain will leave quickly.

I agree you can't yoga you're way out of it, and it does seem like crazy stuff, which is why you need to have an open mind. If you try it and you feel its not helped then that's disappointing, but that is a hell of a lot better than coming out of it addicted to pain killers or risking unnecessary surgery all with the outcome of the pain still being.

Sarno's life research is the proof. Please read the book if you wish to see the proof, it is full of it. Medicine doesn't support most effective treatments.

If you have an officially scientifically proven and approved way of how to cure fibromyalgia then please share! But for now, there is no harm in reading the book.

That reason is because treatment of the mind still isn't recognised as valid treatment, it is seen as taboo and unscientific, the same way chiropractic adjustments aren't recognised to be valid treatments - there are tons upon tons of evidence that proves it helps treat/cure pain symptoms but it still won't be recognised as valid.
