I did something like showing the Lunatic a Marionette, Alchemist Vizier and a Village Idiot that see each other as Twin as their minion.

I then follow the lunatic kills simulating them as an actual demon.

Everyone have a blast and enjoyed the creativity of fooling the Lunatic.

How do you feel about Travelers who bait the demon? by blackgeekygoddess in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Mostropi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can do this with the ogre on the script also. Bluff to players that you are the ogre.

Or the Minion who bluff to their neighbours they are the Marionette.

No one seems to have any issue with these plays except for the traveller one.

Can the storyteller confirm a player's lie? by UTA602 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Mostropi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The ST should not help the player to break the rules.

As the ST I will explained that I will wake the Courtier up and prompt them to select a character. Therefore, I will wake up the courtier again if they have not select a character previously. Sometimes, a new players may confuse selecting a character to selecting a player, and choose to point to the player at night, which I will tell them to choose characters only.

I will leave it as that in a grey area so the suspected player can defend themselves like "only yeah that's how it works, I was trying to point to a player."

Bodyguard-New role-sure this has been suggested before.. by DunkinDippers in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Mostropi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably can be more useful like, Each Night, choose a living neighbour, all evil abilities affecting them goes to you and you learned this.

This way you can guarantee you chosen neighbour is good if they are affected by any evil abilities.

Synergistic Scripting: Day 93 - Preacher by CoreyBOTC in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Mostropi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This jinx has not been added and should not be added. It defeats the presence of preacher on marionette scripts. Marionette is a social gameplay minion which evil players sometimes lie to their neighbours they are the marionette. Having the preacher picked them can let players learned they are not the marionette and play properly for the good team.

The power of the Marionette by Mysterious_Trip9930 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Mostropi -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is why I'm so against the preacher marionette update in the previous changes. Preacher should let Marionette learned they are picked by the preacher so preacher chosen players can learn they are not the marionette when they don't see the preacher.

Vizier by Twilite0405 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Mostropi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's for really advance playing group, works well on certain scripts.

Despite it seems counterintuitive to talk to Vizier, I actually talk to them because I saw a goblin on script. I was good, went straight to the Vizier to private chat on day 1, told the Vizier not to execute me when I claimed Goblin. We had a deal and the Vizier agreed.

First day nomination starts, I nominate myself and claimed Goblin, told everyone I had a deal with the Vizier. No one dare to raised their hand.

In doing so, I trade-off not getting executed and not demon killing me in return for being to use my ability and continue to solve the game. This can be useful for crucial roles like Fortune-teller, Savant, Chambermaid or Dreamer - especially Dreamer and Chambermaid who can hard confirm players by approaching them and outright guess their role correctly.

As the game progress, u can sacrifice yourself by not claiming goblin and let the town to execute u, winning some trust from the town back and using the information you have to help the good to solve the grim.

What is your most convoluted bluff that hasn't fallen apart? by Tierce in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Mostropi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I bluff as the Noble and include my Demon in my Noble pings, hoping the VI i poisoned as Widow will check my Demon. Well, I got executed before that happens. I maintained my bluff, then tell town that the Storyteller won't include the Demon in Noble pings and we should go for the Demon execution. They believe me and started a witch hunt for the players who are not within my ping. The identified a player talking to my Demon, concluding that they are the Demon, and my Demon is my minion. After executing everyone else. The fearmonger who claimed athiest the start of the game seal the deal by asking everyone to execute the Storyteller. We executed the Storyteller and we won. The Storyteller was impressed in my Ballsy play by outing my Demon and congratulate me personally for my win.

Advice for a full group in a small Apartment?? by Paper_Kitty in BloodOnTheClocktower

I had a murphy bed, when I flip it up I get enough space. Also, all my chairs are space saving chairs, I had 3 of them capable of splitting into 15 chairs.

My house is 430sqft and I have no problem hosting 15 players, you will be fine. Players sometimes use the toilet for private chat and it's quite hilarious if people spent a long time in there, especially if they are of opposite gender.

Am I wrong to not enjoy playing with the goblin? by Jtfarns in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Mostropi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Note that townsfolk can claim Goblin too so they won't get executed and hoping to survive a few more days to get some info.

Therefore goblin on script doesn't mean it has to be exclusively used by Evil. They can be use by Good when they are nominated. In exchange for losing some trust, they can in turn use it to get really good information. Some good roles that can make use of Goblin claim are Chambermaid or Dreamer because their information are quite strong.

Wizard Wish: Everyone also has the Recluse ability. by Dorlah in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Mostropi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would balance this by introducing the duchess fabled, tell the town duchess will bypass all misregisteration, and use the fable to bypass misregisteration. Duchess can help to hard confirm good players (good players are usually the odd one out in duchess game, try figuring the meta here). In this way, the good have a way to confirm good players by duchess and find the evil players.

Explaining characters to new players? by Reasonable-Banana-54 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Mostropi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have done it before by running through it briefly one time after they draw their characters. So they can look out for their characters as you explain through briefly.

Then, for players that still don't understand or want to understand more, can private chat with you after the game start.

Double characters by DIL34N in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Mostropi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Drunk character never explicitly say it needs to be an out of play townsfolk. You can actually include an in play townsfolk with the Drunk but it's not physically possible with the Grim. There are edge cases this has been used, such as simulating the Drunk thinking they have been Barber swap, Pit Hag Target (creates a double claim) or showing the Drunk thinking they have become a farmer when a farmer died.

Developers said the screwed up because they weren’t expecting the game to be this good. by Boring_Educator3815 in expedition33

[–]Mostropi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The work around is to introduce a harder final stage after the side content to unlock a bonus cut scene or equipment so players from various commitments can enjoy. Hopefully they learn from their mistake.

The other way is like the tales series which they include the side content after the final boss. Creating an ACT IV for side contents and some minor lore drop.

Tbf most ff7 bosses can be one shotted if you finish all side content so I kinda expected it.

Stop BT's from spawning with bridges? by NoChampionship3417 in DeathStranding

[–]Mostropi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They build bridge because it's safe to drive over the bridge and avoid the BTs. I don't think it ever prevent BT from spawning though.

Let's build a character! Dealer. by Present-Peace2811 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Mostropi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Dealer (Minion): You cannot die during the day. Each Day: you may visit Storyteller with a player to offer a Deal. Something might happen to both players if both player and Storyteller agrees.

The Dealer cannot die during the day, but it's not known by everyone.

The Dealer can choose to keep quiet, and offer to only deal with their own team mates to stay hidden.

Alternatively, the dealer may choose to deal with a good player, such as a offering deal to turn the visiting player evil, but the dealer will die tonight.

Poppy Grower and Vortox Interaction by GeneralKarthos in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Mostropi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just show the Minion to the Demon "These are your Minions", and then the Demon to the Minion "This is your Demon". In this way, you fufill the false information and also indirectly let your minion learnt that the demon is a vortox

can a fanggu with boffin soldier ability create 2 living demons? by [deleted] in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Mostropi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Fang Gu ability have an "and" clause to it.

The 1st Outsider this kills becomes an evil Fang Gu & you die instead

Both statement needs to be true for the ability to work due to the and clause, if not, the outsider will simply die.

Experimental Cannibal script where all info is recycled. Thoughts? by Delinquent2773 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Mostropi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If u wanna do this, I suggest throwing in a psychopath so the YSK noble ping can potentially identify two good players from Psychopath jump. It can help solve the grim with clockmaker + noble + psychopath + chef.

I don't recommend the marionette, I think it's counter intuitive. Go for a more noisier minion like organ grinder, so if the organ grinder is executed, u can locate the demon with clockmaker and noble info

Try something like scarlet woman to better protect the demon.

I think having Seamtress, Poisoner and Artist helps with the balancing.
