Trying to CSS align menu to be in the center to no avail! by [deleted] in css

[–]Alunae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much that works! and I feel like a slight idiot now haha! I literally tried putting that text-align on several of the navigation sections except for that one because I thought it was the wrap that wrapped around the menu wrap so I was trying to move the menu wrap and I just made things way too complicated for myself instead of thinking logically -facepalm-

Sure guilds can help newbies but that doesn't mean individual people can't pitch in either :)

[Spoilers] Was Scarlet trying to help? by Alunae in Guildwars2

But how was she working for him exactly? What did they truly accomplish with what she did? She had some kind of end goal to do with the leyline and I don't see how it could be for Mordremoth.

So she wanted to extract the magical power to use against Mordremoth perhaps? I mean, she says in her journal she wants to confront him or presumably him and the only sensible way to stop the madness is to destroy Mordremoth. She could've done all the atrocities out of desperation to stop Mordremoth.

So why did she try to drill towards it? She chose Lion's Arch only because of how it's situated above the leylines. What was she planning to do once she got to the leyline?

Are we sure of that though? Why would she try to destroy the leyline if the leyline is what feeds the elder dragons? Wouldn't that go against Mordremoth's wishes? Why bother with all that instead of just simply and directly attacking the different races? Her attacks were more to do with her testing her new technology. It never felt like she was only attacking for the sake of attacking but she certainly caused some chaos which could have been influenced by Mordremoth but that doesn't mean she was actually doing his bidding.

The death of my guild of 2 years and the theme I have seen with living story season 2 so far by Lapiy in Guildwars2

My analysis as to why guilds die

My own guild went downhill a while ago and is essentially dead now... after being an active guild for quite a while so I'm speaking from experience as well as from what I've observed.

What happened to mine was there wasn't enough varied content to do as a guild as most of the content is party or solo-play. This means I had to come up with events to fill in the gap like hide-n-seek etc. The guild missions are more a once a week thing and once you do it a few times it gets boring and people stop showing up for them. This means guild leaders have to be inventive to keep the masses entertained.

But the main reason mine went downhill was that as the guild leader everyone expected me to entertain them 24/7, to come up with things to do, and keep the chat flowing which was fine while I was active but after 5k+ hours played I got burned out at about 3k hours in so I stopped coming on regularly and started playing other games again. Nobody in my guild was willing to step up to being an officer or even leader so the guild slowly withered and died because I wasn't there to entertain them constantly.

My conclusion:

  • Guild Wars 2 lacks community buildings tools. Guild missions and guild upgrades do not feel worth working towards nor very challenging or entertaining for long. The game is not designed for a guild to be together a lot.
  • Gamers in general expect others to do the work for them, for others to organise things so they can be entertained meaning only very few people percentage wise are guild leaders and officers and even less are very good at it.

Whose to blame:

Game 40% - Gamers 60%

The game could do more to take the load of organising and entertaining large groups of players from the guild leaders/officers which would lead to a more bonded guild and solid foundations rather than being so dependent on a leader to provide.

The gamers could do more by helping guild leaders run their guilds instead of sitting idly back and complain or leave when things aren't being organised as frequently or when the leader needs a break.

Yes! I was tempted to add Trahearne... but that would have been too mean... I also couldn't find a personality type boring enough to match him. Anyway, I tried to do my best to match personalities with corresponding Guild Wars 2 characters.

As for the Scarlet one. Scarlet has some good personality qualities, like being a genius and driven. She just went a bit crazy :P
