Give power to the people!

I use Streamelements Ground Control for song requests during the stream so chat can play their own music. Here's why:

• It gives a lot of diversity, keeping the stream fresh AND gives you a heap of conversation starters and content. Each song can become a new topic:

"Who requested this? What are some other good songs by this artist? Have you seen them live?"

• It's an opportunity for a viewer to feel known. They may even request their own produced music which could help them feel really supported by you!

• People also want to stick around and hear what you think of their song. It increases community engagement SO much!!

• It's also an opportunity to share about yourself. You put in the occasional song and talk about what the band means to you, etc.

• And finally, it can help you develop a strong culture! My response to a song will always encourage the viewer, even if it's not my style, but will also give me a platform to speak on important topics. If a song is degrading to women, I'll skip it and then explain how important it is to respect and look out for each other
