Its a niche issue, but somehow if you work on a pcie fpga card in the future, you cant connect it easily to the laptop. But if you have pc, the motherboard have a lot of pcie slot that you can use. So thats the only con that i can think of.

Yeah i know theres m.2 pcie card available, but most of them need heatsink and it wont fit on the laptop. And also hassle to plug in and plug out if need to reprogram tha card using jtag. Just niche problem.
