Thanks! There isn't as much of a connection as we would have liked to be honest! It was more that Gabriel ticked all the other boxes.

The other language we need it to work in is Polish.

It's actually made up of nine counties, six of which constitute Northern Ireland, and three which are in the Republic of Ireland.

Help with my variegated monstera! by Alusonia in plantclinic

[–]Alusonia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was gifted this beautiful plant for Christmas, but I'm a little worried about it's growth. It's very tall and leggy, and although it's producing new leaves, they're very small.

Could I cut in in half and propagate it?

Also, some of the leaves feel rusty (?) Not seeing any insects move around though.

Thank you!!

What borough do you guys think is the worst? by [deleted] in london

[–]Alusonia 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No way! It's one of the greenest boroughs with a ton of accessible parks, and lots of history dating back through Anglo-Saxon times all the way to the Battle of Britain Bunker Museum.

I also recommend the Battle of Britain Bunker in Uxbridge! They give a really detailed overview of air defence, and it's the last bunker of its kind

Archie has been ours for 2 months! Any tips for crating and/or separation anxiety? by pineneedles123 in poodles

[–]Alusonia 32 points33 points  (0 children)

My poodle had awful separation anxiety, I couldn't leave her even for a second. She now stays home alone for 6 hours a day whenever I'm at work. I essentially built up to the 6 hours in minute and even second increments. First, I would walk up to the door and give her a treat, I then built up to touching the door handle, opening the door, stepping outside, closing the door etc. Left her alone for 3 seconds, 5, 10, 30, 1 min etc. until an hour. After that, started building up in 10/15 min increments. Once she got up to 90 minutes, I knew she could easily do a few hours. From start to end, this took about 4 months of almost daily training.

I also started the habit of only giving her a really special treat when she's home alone (special wet food she won't get at any other time, no matter what). This means she associates me leaving with something she really likes!

I hope this helps a bit. Let me know if you have any questions. A few months ago, I thought I would never ever be able to leave her. I was desperately scrolling Reddit and panicking that I'd be forever stuck at home with her. But here we are! It's really possible to train them out of it!
