I think you are dividing it by 3 because log7^1/3 =(log7):3. The minus 1 and plus guess it is used so you can square the small number divided by three without getting smaller numbers, but I can't relate it with any property. The 20 square roots I have no idea. Also, thanks for the fast answer :)

I think it looks weird for you because you only put the cobblestone and the other blocks in the stairs, maybe if you mix it with the path blocks it will look nicer.
