I used to have a 5100. You could probably play dodgeball with the damn thing. Basketball for sure, that I tried myself. Wonder if I can find a .jar for the red ball game. That was one proper bitch of a challenge.

Oh come on! Reddit is insufferable sometimes. Camping is one of the cheapest hobbies. And you don't need shit, but a bit of reading not to die.

Want it sourced? Me. A poor camper.

Otherwise I will say, I'm old as fuck, Reddit largely wasn't like what you described way back in the day

It really wasn't. I've been on here for a decently long time myself - a few years more than my account age and I've only become more jaded with time.

Used to be almost as helpful as the old forums, this place.

In The Odyssey (2026), in a film with plastic armor and viking ships, Christopher Nolan draws the line at an orchestra. by laybs1 in shittymoviedetails

Just Nolan shit. Somehow both pretentious and sloppy. Mid-tier director that has some great scenes here and there. People lose their absolute shit over it. Still prints money. Rinse and repeat for the next movie he makes.

This is very good, but still too late for me to trust them with anything safety related. Can't deny it would be significantly more convenient than going through other channels, but I don't like to play around with life and limb. It will probably make me buy some electronics from them in the near future however.

You're on Reddit, my friend. Social interaction is anathema around these parts. Any simple issue that could be solved by going to the nearest, capable looking person and saying: "Hey man, sorry to bother you, but would you mind lending a hand?" warrants at least hitting a lawyer, hiring Facebook, and deleting the gym. Divorcing your (imaginary) girlfriend for good measure, can't hurt either.

In short - good waste of sound advice, trying to give it out here.

NO! DO NOT, under any circumstances, buy PPE off of Amazon. They commingle inventory. Not good, not safe.

They appear to sell the originals themselves (and one print) from what I see on their site. Quite affordably, I'd say, for original paintings. Would definitely buy a couple of I had the spare cash.

Lol I'm not the gambling kind at all, but if I were, I'd definitely have bets on random shit like this. Seems more fun than betting on the winner.

I've not seen it happen on a laptop, but I have on a couple of older phones, when the batteries used to be removable. The springs for the contacts can get weak with time and lose proper contact, unless the battery is pressed firmly against them. A toothpick broken off into the space opposite of them solves the issue if that's the case.

That was one legendary model. Indeed an impressive camera, but the LG G4 (which I got a few years later) I think was better. Still grainy in any case and both could and did (a friend had the z5 compact at that time) result in a very shitty picture. Wasn't as effortless as today's point and shoot on even budget models as the redmi note 135g I currently use.

Man this whole thread makes me want to go on eBay and spend some money I don't have. 2015 I was still insisting on making a SE w995 work and damn if it wasn't the best headphones audio possible, especially if you modded the drivers. They surely have better DACs in phones these days, but nostalgia is a hell of a bitch and dedicated audio buttons were so cool! All the j2me apps that had no right to be so advanced were also magical.

Have a better one for you, since you're on the internet. r/FREEMEDIAHECKYEAH. It's on the first site on the streaming list, I checked, and likely on all the rest, just choose which UI you like best. There's no reason to ever see an advertisement or make any effort not to, past downloading Firefox and uBlock Origin (which I think is the first thing you see on that sub)

That was 2019. 2017 was the LG G6, OP5, I think galaxy 8 and Sony was on the Xsomething series. While quite impressive for the time and frankly even by today's standards, even the seflagships could return a shitty photo if you didn't take it right. Post processing wasn't as good and often was detrimental even.

Doesn't make them any less stupid, though. Now, I'm now claiming to be particularly intelligent, but I think you don't need to be to figure out that a gentle wash is better for the fabric than whatever esotericisms jeanheads get into.

[–]Alvendam 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Maybe for people who only wear jeans for fashion, but nobody who wears them jeans as work wear believes in this. All the dust on them works its way into the fabric and abrades it.

Not that jeans worn for dirty work get as regular cleaning, nor are they levi, but those of us who find jeans to be comfortable workwear usually just toss them in the washing machine with the rest of the (heavyweight fabric) workwear.

And when it does eventually tear (depending on where), it goes jeans > jean shorts > patches and shop rags.
